The update could soon arrive on iOS.

If you received an Xbox Series X/S console last week, you may have been asked to download the mobile app to help you set up the console. Now, those who have access to beta testing the iOS version of the app seem to be trying out new features that may soon hit the app.

The current status app lets you see what games are popular, your friends’ activity, friends list, chats, browse your captures on Xbox Live, manage your console (kinda) and browse certain parts of your profile. Tom Warren shared some images of the upcoming changes to the app yesterday.

When the update arrives, you should now be able to browse your game library, complete with filters and sort orders. And you will probably be able to choose to install them provided that your console is configured to install games remotely. You will also be able to manage your message requests and create group chats. Another new feature will allow you to set a custom gamer image using images from your phone’s media library or choosing from the predefined library. The update will also fix some known bugs and issues reported by users.

It still seems to be missing some features, like the ability to view achievements. Also, while users can use the search function to find games, I think having a more intuitive store would work well in the app for better discovery. Plus, maybe merging the Xbox Game Pass app would work wonders in the same way.

If you’re wondering what we thought of the Xbox Series X, you can read our review here, we also have a Series S review in the works, so stay tuned for when that arrives. The update seems to be on the way for iOS at the moment, but I imagine an Android update will roll out around the same time.
