If you want to customize your Xbox spaces, we show you how change PFP on the Xbox app. Unfortunately, the app is limited in customizing your image, so the process requires using the console.
Xbox Windows has a set of default pictures that you can use as profile pictures. Still, you can select yours in different ways. Regardless of the method you choose, you must accomplish various prerequisites for the task:
- You must have the latest version of the Xbox app
- You must be at least 18 years old
- Profile picture must be at least 1080×1080
- Xbox supported file formats are .jpg, .png or .bmp.
- You must agree to the Xbox Terms of Service, Microsoft Service Agreement, and Code of Conduct. If the company finds the images inappropriate, Microsoft may remove your PFP or ban your account.
How do I change the PFP on the Xbox app?
There are several ways to change the Xbox app profile picture. However, the app’s options are limited, so we’re looking for external ways to do this.
When you edit the image through the Xbox console, you will also see the result on the app. This happens because you are changing the Xbox account profile picture itself.
So, in essence, here are the two ways to change PFP on the Xbox app:
- The Xbox app contains built-in images that you can use on your profile, which are pre-made avatars. Currently, the app does not offer a choice to download an image from the gallery, although it did before.
- You can also use a custom gamertag, but you can only select it through the Xbox console. You can either upload an image with a USB or search for an image with the Edge (or Bing) browser. There were other ways to customize your Xbox PFP, but, currently, these are the only reliable methods.
The Xbox Gamerpic will represent your account on all Xbox Live services, including any app or console you use with your account. This also includes your profile, game profiles, and the Xbox app.
Consider customizing your Gamerpic with an external photo editor like Adobe Photoshop. This would require uploading the image to the Xbox with a thumb drive or USB cable with your phone.
