Windows 11 has been rolled out by Microsoft in India and is available to users via a free upgrade on current Windows 10 PCs and those pre-installed with the new software version.

#Windows11 is now available in India – bringing you closer to what you love, empowering you to produce, and inspiring you to create,” Microsoft India announced in a tweet on October 5.

The company announced that the new version has been rolled out by partners including Asus, HP and Lenovo, and will soon be launched by Acer and Dell as well.

Microsoft says new Windows 11 users will need to agree to the Microsoft Software License Terms before downloading the software.

How to Get Windows 11 on Windows 10 Devices

If your PC is running Windows 10, then you can check if Windows 11 upgrade is ready for your specific device by opening Windows Update settings.

Go to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update and click “Check for updates”.

If your device is eligible and the upgrade is ready, the download and install option will be visible to you. If you are ready to install Windows 11, you can simply select Download and Install.

From the new Start menu and taskbar to every available sound, font, and icon, users can expect Windows 11 to bring them a more modern, fresh, and beautiful experience.

Windows 11 was built for gaming, with innovative new features that can take a user’s PC gaming experience to the next level. If a PC has an HDR-capable display, Auto HDR will automatically upgrade over 1000 DirectX 11 and DirectX 12 games to High Dynamic Range, delivering a much wider color and brightness range.

Microsoft thinks player choice is important, which is why Windows 11 includes the ability to turn Auto HDR on or off per game.

Windows 11 also includes the built-in Xbox app. Through the Xbox app, users can browse, download and play over 100 high-quality PC games with Game Pass for PC (subscription sold separately).

October will kick off the most important three months in Xbox history with incredible game launches including Age of Empires IV on October 28, Forza Horizon 5 on November 9, and Halo Infinite on December 8, which will be available on Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and Xbox. Game Pass for PC members from day one.

Xbox Game Pass Ultimate members can also play over 100 Xbox console games on their PC without having to wait for a download thanks to the power of Xbox Cloud Gaming (Beta) with the Xbox app.
