Apex Legends Gameplay Details

Although Apex Legends Mobile is a standalone app, it pulls several elements from the standard version that works on PC and other consoles. The main maps, game modes and battle passes are also involved in the mobile version of the game. Developing the game from the ground up, fully optimized for touch screens, must be very difficult for the developers. The game has made the fan-favorite map King’s Canyon missing in BR mode. However, you will be able to see parts of the map in Team Deathmatch and Arenas mode. The patch notes for the first season of the game is named Prime Time and below are some of its features.

EA introduced a new mobile-exclusive legend named Fade with the mobile version of the game. Fade is a new legend that has passive, tactical, and ultimate abilities. The passive ability is called Slipstream which gives a quick boost at the end of its slide. His tactical ability called Flashback helps him easily return to his previous location. Finally comes his ultimate ability which is called Phase Chamber, which allows him to launch a core, which saves everyone within its radius from any damage during the explosion. Players can unlock fade after reaching level 25.

Besides the new legend, the game should see a new overflow map in arena mode and advanced training level. Players can explore and learn advanced combat drills. New additions include new arms like the Heat Shield, 30-30 Marksman Rifle, and 4x-10x Thermal Imaging Optic Scope. Squad Fill is a new feature that automatically fills a new player in deathmatch mode when a player leaves the game in the middle.

The mobile version of Apex Legends will also have a Battle Pass season, often heard in other BR titles like PUBM/BGMI, Call of Duty, Free Fire, etc. Players can receive free rewards as well as exclusive rewards when purchasing the Battle Pass. with Apex Legends coins that include exclusive weapon skins and other perks. Other features and the interface will bear a high resemblance to the original/regular version of the game on PC and console.

Can I play the mobile version of Apex Legends on the emulator?

The answer is yes, you can play the mobile version of Apex Legends on Emulator. But the problem is that you cannot download the game from any official source because the game is not official yet for emulators. You have to download and install the game manually to play the game in an emulator. Note that the game is said to have many bugs and issues as the game is not available for emulators. Therefore, the game is not optimized to be played on Emulator. We suggest you do not play the game on Emulator until an official announcement is released.

Does Apex Legends Mobile support cross-platform play?

apex legends
Picture via EA

It’s a bummer for mobile players to team up with PC players or other consoles because the mobile version doesn’t allow cross-play. However, it should be noted that the mobile version is completely separate from the PC or Console version. Some major items available in the game are only mobile exclusive. It is a standalone application and you can observe the difference between playing the game on mobile and on another console.

It wouldn’t be fair gameplay if we dropped all of these players on the same battlegrounds, especially without controller support. Given this, Respawn Entertainment had announced that they were not allowing cross-play for mobile and other console versions. We can expect changes to this feature in the coming days. Crossplay on iOS and Android is supported.

Will this game have controller support?

mobile apex legends
Picture via game

The image above shows controller-style button pointers on the cluttered HUD, implying that the game, like CoD Mobile, will allow smartphone (or emulator) users to pair a game controller and enjoy it like the PC or the console version.

FOBIA – Hotel St. Dinfna will check in on Xbox, PlayStation and PC on June 28

Publisher Maxima Games has given the upcoming survival horror a June 28 release date FOBIA – Hotel St Dinfna.

The news is accompanied by a new gameplay trailer for the game, showcasing some of its mechanics. You will explore the mysterious hotel as investigative journalist Roberto Leite Lopes. He will have easy access to a mystical camera that can also see into the past, present, and future.

You will have to use the camera’s unique powers to solve puzzles in the haunted hotel. There is a touch of modernity resident Evil entrances into the game sequences, with the hotel sporting its own spacious lobby, not unlike Res 2police, with elaborate puzzle mechanics.

Of course, it wouldn’t be modern survival horror without some spooky creatures, so we also get a glimpse of combat. You’ll probably want to avoid fighting for the most part, and the sight of those meaty spiders certainly helps encourage that. Probably fine to skip the end of the video if you’re a bit arachnophobic.

FOBIA – Hotel St Dinfna should arrive on Xbox Series X | S, Xbox One, PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and PC on June 28. The game was first announced in December last year.

How to Download Arma Reforger on Xbox and PC

If you want to download Arma Reforge on Xbox or PC, we’ve got you covered. Follow the simple steps listed below, and you’ll be in the Cold War era in no time.

How to Download Arma Reforger on Xbox

As of this writing, the Xbox version of Arma Reforger has not gone live. However, when it does later today, downloading it on Xbox should be as simple as following the steps below:

  1. Launch the Microsoft Store app
  2. Use the search function to locate the list
  3. Select the list and buy the game

Once purchased, the game should automatically be added to your download queue. Once installed, you can launch it at your leisure. Even though it’s labeled “Game Preview”, it’s the full version. That’s just Xbox nomenclature for early access. If you find the game is not appearing in the store, you may need to wait a bit longer. You can also try resetting your console to see if it triggers a store update.

How to download on PC

  1. Arma Reforger is available exclusively on Steam on PC. It can be purchased and downloaded like any other game on the platform. Do this:
  2. Search for Arma Reforger using the Steam store search box
  3. Click on the correct selection when the search results appear
  4. Buy the game from its store listing

After purchasing the game, Steam should automatically ask you if you want to install it. Also note that Arma Reforger is in early access, so don’t expect it to be complete or bug-free. It’s steep for an early access game, and reviews on Steam are mixed. It’s supposed to be a preview of Arma 4, so skeptical folks might want to wait until Bohemia Interactive releases that game.

Xbox Game Pass adds 12 more games in May 2022

Xbox Game Pass today revealed the final list of titles that subscribers on Xbox Series X, Xbox One, PC, and cloud devices will be able to access before the end of May. In total, Microsoft is adding 12 new games to Game Pass before the end of the month. Combined with the seven titles that have already arrived on the service in the past two weeks, this makes the Xbox Game Pass offering for May one of the most comprehensive lineups we’ve seen so far in 2022.

Of the 12 games coming to Xbox Game Pass soon, five of those titles are actually coming to the subscription platform today. The other seven will then roll out over the next 10 days, meaning all of these games will be free to download and play before long.

Here’s the full list of games coming to Xbox Game Pass from today until the end of the month:

  • His history (PC) – May 17
  • Jurassic World Evolution 2 (Cloud, Console, and PC) – May 17
  • Little witch in the woods (Console and PC) – May 17
  • Skate (Cloud) – May 17
  • Umurangi Generation Special Edition (Cloud, Console and PC) – May 17
  • Farming Simulator 22 (Cloud, Console, and PC) – May 19
  • vampire survivors (PC) – May 19
  • Soft Knights (Cloud, Console, and PC) – May 24
  • Hardspace: Shipbreaker (PC) – May 24
  • Elite Sniper 5 (Console and PC) – May 26
  • locust 22 (PC) – May 27
  • Pac-Man+ Museum (Cloud, Console, and PC) – May 27

As we’ve come to expect from Xbox Game Pass, perhaps the best thing about this lineup is the sheer number of different genres that are covered. Along with having a new shooter, classic arcade games, and a beloved sports title, there are also adventure titles and strategy games on this list. If there isn’t something here that somehow catches your interest, that would honestly be a bit surprising.

What do you think of all these new games coming soon to Xbox Game Pass? Did a specific game in this range appeal to you? Share your own thoughts with me in the comments or message me on Twitter at @MooreMan12.

Fall Guys is going free, coming to Switch and Xbox on June 21 – TechCrunch

Battle royale platformer Fall Guys: Ultimate Knockout is going free-to-play and coming to Xbox, Nintendo Switch, and the Epic Games Store on June 21, developer Mediatonic announced Monday. The game originally launched on PlayStation and PC in August 2020 and was slated to release on Switch and Xbox last summer. A dedicated PlayStation 5 version of the game will also launch on June 21, bringing faster loading times and other performance improvements.

“Whether you’re on PlayStation, Nintendo Switch, Xbox, Epic Games Store, or a mix of all of the above, you’ll be able to play Fall Guys for free – with cross-play, cross-platform parties, and cross-play progression fully supported with the use of your Epic Games account,” the announcement reads.

PlayStation and Steam players who already own a copy of Fall Guys will continue to receive all regular updates, including new seasons, fixes, and features. Mediatonic notes that new players will no longer be able to download Fall Guys on Steam. People new to Fall Guys and want to play on PC will need to visit the Epic Games Store.

Existing players who have purchased Fall Guys will receive a “Legacy Pack” which will come with a nickname, nameplate, three costumes, and access to a new premium season pass.

Fall Guys is getting a new season on June 21 that will bring new levels, costumes, gameplay, and more. Mediatonic will also launch a new premium season pass that can be purchased with Show-Bucks, a new in-game currency. The season pass includes 100 levels and additional costumes. Users who do not want a Season Pass will continue to have access to a free progression path with unlockables.

It makes sense for Fall Guys to launch on the Epic Games Store, as Epic purchased Mediatonic’s parent company, Tonic Games Group, last year. It should be noted that Epic made Rocket League free-to-play after acquiring developer Psyonix.

Fall Guys became an instant hit in 2020, but the hype around the game has since waned. The shift to free-to-play and launching on additional platforms should give Fall Guys a new audience.

How to convert your Xbox Live subscription to Game Pass Ultimate

Microsoft’s Xbox Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass offer a lot of value if you want to play all kinds of games through a subscription. The service normally costs $14.99 per month for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate (which covers both Xbox and PC) or $9.99 per month for PC Game Pass and includes AAA titles like Infinite Halo and Forza Horizon 5 as well as rotations of great third-party and indie games.

If you want to try it, there’s an introductory price that gives you one month of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate for $1. But before using it, you should know that it is possible to use the trial version to record a ground money on Game Pass Ultimate for up to three years.

Microsoft is allowing Xbox gamers to order up to 36 months of Xbox Live Gold prepaid service. And activating the $1 trial will automatically convert future months of Gold service to the more expensive Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, saving you hundreds of dollars. For some context on how much money you can save: it costs around $180 for three years of Xbox Live Gold. Add the $1 promotion and you get three years of Xbox Game Pass Ultimate for around $181 – whereas if you pay the full $14.99 per month for Game Pass Ultimate, those three years would cost you almost $540.

It should be noted that this is really designed to be a one-time offering. If you’ve already redeemed the offer to get a month for $1, you’ve used your opportunity to convert Xbox Live Gold to Game Pass Ultimate without completely canceling Game Pass or letting it expire. (You must turn off auto-renewal on your account.) If you subsequently resubscribe, you’ll be charged the full $14.99 for the first month, instead of the $1 introductory price.

So if you haven’t used this conversion yet, here’s how to get the most out of your money.

How to convert your Xbox Live service to Game Pass Ultimate

  • To participate in this free conversion, you must first purchase an Xbox Live Gold membership (assuming you don’t already have one). Microsoft may end the sale of Xbox Live Gold at some point as it incentivizes gamers to purchase Game Pass Ultimate. But, for the momentyou can still purchase digital codes for the service from Amazon and other retailers in Three-, six-, or 12 months increments.
  • The next step is to redeem Xbox Live Gold codes on your account, either through the Microsoft website or directly through your Xbox One or Series X/S console. Microsoft States that the terms of this promotion are subject to changeso I would do it sooner rather than later as there is no indication if it might ever stop converting Xbox Live Gold to Game Pass Ultimate.

Once you purchase the $1 Game Pass Ultimate trial, your prepaid months of Xbox Live Gold will automatically convert.

  • It is now safe to enjoy $1 Game Pass Ultimate trial. Once you’ve redeemed the offer, you’ll see something similar to the image above when you click on the “Services & Subscriptions” tab in your account on the Microsoft site.

While this conversion isn’t possible with PC Game Pass, the Xbox Game Pass Ultimate plan covers both Xbox and PC. This makes this Xbox Live Gold conversion even better value if you play on both platforms.

What time does Apex Legends Mobile come out?

There will be slight differences for those downloading the game in North America, as the launch time has been confirmed for 9pm PT on May 16th. Xbox Game Pass is losing big games today

Xbox Game Pass subscribers should be aware that a total of 6 pretty big games are leaving the service as of today, May 15.

Many are eagerly awaiting a new announcement for the next few Xbox Game Pass titles, and the service should do so in the coming days. After all, there’s not much coming after May 17, but it’s part of Game Pass’ bi-weekly approach. However, Xbox Game Pass is losing some major games today, May 15.

It’s worth noting that this isn’t new, as many Xbox Game Pass subscribers probably know. Xbox Game Pass drops games every month, but the most notable factor is that it always adds more than it takes away. In other words, Xbox Game Pass proves its worth time and time again, and it effectively increases it as well. But, many fans should also be aware of the games coming out of the subscription service today.

6 great games leaving Xbox Game Pass on May 15

Fans have known this for a while, hopefully either by downloading and beating Xbox Game Pass games or by taking advantage of the store discount on them. Anyway, the following six games are being removed from Xbox Game Pass today.

  • Enter the Gungeon – May 15
  • Final Fantasy 10/10-2 HD Remaster – May 15
  • Remnant: From the Ashes – May 15
  • Steep – May 15
  • The Catch: Carp and Big – May 15
  • The Wild Heart – May 15

The first three are arguably the heaviest casualties for the service. Enter the dungeon has a cult, Final Fantasy 10/10-2 HD Remaster are emblematic FF games, and Vestige: ashes is a solid Soulslike cooperative shooter. Even if someone hasn’t had a chance to play them on Xbox Game Pass, they are worth the price the store charges them.

To soak, as a sports simulator on snowy mountains, and The catch, as a fishing simulator, are perhaps the most specialized games here, but these have had their sequels and many fans of one or another of the real world activities have probably enjoyed them on the digital front. Meanwhile, The savage at heart is a beloved indie game, which really ranks in the top three in terms of popularity and quality.

Xbox Game Pass may be dropping those 6 games today, but no doubt more than 6 games will be added in the coming weeks. Fans can probably expect Xbox Game Pass to drop more games at the end of May, so they should be sure to keep an eye out for those in case it’s a game or two that they were waiting to try.

Xbox Game Pass subscribers receive a handful of free games each month.

Xbox patent could let you play discs on a discless console – Review Geek

Microsoft

While that’s certainly a bargain, the Xbox Series S’s inability to read discs can cause a lot of frustration, especially if you own a bunch of old games. But a new patent from Microsoft shows that the “digital-only” console could gain disc-playing capabilities, of sorts.

As discovered by Rant game, a Microsoft patent describes how gamers can play discs on the Xbox Series S or Xbox One S. It’s a flawed plan, but it makes sense: use an external disc drive (an Xbox One in this example) to verify that you have a physical disk. Game. Xbox servers then allow your discless console to download and play the game.

A patent showing how an external console or disc drive could verify physical games on an Xbox Series S.
Rant game

Obviously, Microsoft should just sell an add-on disc player for its consoles. But the system described in this patent is better than nothing. It would certainly make the Xbox Series S experience a little easier to swallow, as long as you have an Xbox One or other disc-enabled device lying around.

There is only one major problem; What’s stopping me from buying a physical game, running it through this service, and returning or reselling it? Presumably, Microsoft will only give your Xbox Series S temporary access to any physical game you own. And if so, you may need to keep an Xbox One on standby to rescan your drives.

Keep in mind that this is just a patent. It may never become a real service, and judging by its complexity, I doubt Microsoft will go all the way. But it’s interesting to see Microsoft address the Xbox Series X’s biggest problem: wait, just sell an extra disc drive! It’s not that hard!

YouTuber Creates a Frogger/Crossy Road Game in Minecraft

It’s entirely possible for the creators of Minecraft to create an entirely different game within a game, and YouTuber Mysticat is reimagining a classic retro title.

Over the past 10 years or so, Minecraft has been considered one of the most successful IPs in the gaming industry. Given that it is a game that has sold hundreds of millions of copies, its success is hardly surprising, and much of the popularity comes from the community itself. Lots of talented people create really cool contraptions and builds, and sometimes people take it a step further and use the blocky world to make a whole different game.

GAMER VIDEO OF THE DAY

That’s what YouTuber Mysticat did. In a recent video, they managed to take Minecraft and create their own version of the classic arcade game Frogor maybe the mobile version cross road to make it a more contemporary reference. Using a few command blocks, the reimagining sees players, in this case other YouTubers, trying to jump from one end to the other, while avoiding getting run over by cars and trains, and also jumping through floating logs, similar to the source material. .

RELATED: YouTuber Creates Pac-Man in Minecraft, But With a Twist

It’s a pretty fun adaptation, and the video shows that it’s actually quite tricky. Perhaps the most intriguing thing about this project is that it builds on a previous video made by Mysticat. Not so long ago they managed to create a moving car inside Minecraft. While these latest images are entertaining enough, they don’t quite do the complexity much justice. The creator clearly has a lot of skill in using commands and testing ideas to fully achieve their goal.

Given that Frog is a basic yet addictive video game, with its origins dating back to the early 1980s, the idea of recreating it in Minecraft may seem quite simple. However, the fact that the YouTuber had to create a separate video that talks about how they went about making a drivable car possible, there’s obviously a lot going on in these types of projects than just building a scene and a few cars in blocks. In addition to that, they also created their own version of Pac man recently, they obviously have a talent for making complex structures.

As for the game itself, Minecraft should have the Wild update soon. There’s no official release date yet, but hopefully fans won’t have long to wait. The game is constantly being updated by Mojang, with lots of content added to what is already a game with plenty to see and do. There’s no doubt that Mysticat will continue to do some interesting stuff, so it remains to be seen what ideas they’ll conjure up next.

Minecraft is available on Mobile, PC, PS4, Switch and Xbox One.

Apple could launch a cheaper Apple TV streaming device in 2022, Kuo says

Going forward, if Apple is focusing on the AppleTV+ app and its content and subscribers, who cares whether the AppleTV box is expensive or cheaper? As long as Apple’s Chip department can create a SOC for a smaller, cheaper dongle like Chrome Cast or Roku or an Amazon Fire streaming device that does a better job with the current AppleTV box interface than ALL GOOD. Your current ApplTV box is neither a good game console (like XBOX or PS5) nor a cheaper streaming device.

I have a number of AppleTVs, but this is my biggest right now. It is positioned in a no man’s land compared to the rest of the market. It’s a better-qualified device than most streaming sticks, so it can deliver casual gaming as well. But it’s not a better experience than playing on iPhone, which means we’re not using Apple Arcade on AppleTV at all.

I would prefer a stripped-down AppleTV “stick” that focuses solely on streaming. I love the AppleTV interface and the new remote (even though it’s ridiculously expensive). Something in the $79-$99 range would be perfect.

Next, I wish Apple would really take gaming seriously and try to get good Nintendo-quality content for a high-end gaming device. A $349 AppleTV with premium Apple Arcade games would be amazing with my Apple One subscription.

Xbox Series S could get an external disc drive

The main trade-off with the cheaper Xbox Series S compared to the Series X is the lack of a disc drive, but Microsoft might have a solution. He patented an external disk drive (via GameRant), which would allow the digital-only Series S to play physical game discs. This would effectively allow you to play disc-based games through the console.

How? By validating your ownership of a physical game and then allowing you to access an online digital version. So while it wouldn’t play the game directly from disc, it would let you enjoy the same experience by routing it online.

The system would involve two devices – one with an optical disc drive to read the game disc and connect to Xbox servers to confirm your ownership, and one to download the digital copy.

In the patent, Microsoft says the primary use would be for backwards compatibility, as it would allow Xbox gamers with a stacked library of physical game discs from older consoles to enjoy those titles on their Xbox Series S without a drive. of disk.

It is likely that the system would be able to check if a game has already been verified, in order to prevent digital piracy. Alternatively, you can just borrow a game disc from someone and download a digital version to keep in your library forever.

As always with patents, there’s no mention of when this might become a reality, if at all. A lot is still up in the air, but this looks like a promising step for anyone with a large library of game discs that they want to continue enjoying.

One developer’s Xbox struggles may show how Game Pass is already changing games

Recently, developer The Game Bakers announced that they will be releasing an unexpected update for Furi, his sleek 2016 mashup of bullet-hell action, where players battle a parade of demanding bosses. This update, including a new character and an improved version for PlayStation 5 players, would be released on PC, PlayStation 4 and 5, and Switch. Very precisely, it would not be released on Xbox, even if Furi originally posted there. Which has caused some understandable frustration from people who exclusively play on Xbox.

“We heard from all of you who played Furi on Xbox and we understand your frustration,” reads a series of tweets from The Game Bakers, trying to explain why he skips the Xbox. “We are a small indie team and couldn’t find the time and budget to do this port.”

Furi is the definition of a cult classic, a game with a small but dedicated following that maintains constant word of mouth about its quality, helping it sell over time. But it didn’t become a cult classic on all platform, and more specifically, it didn’t catch fire on Xbox, a space where, according to the developer, the best path to success is Game Pass or bust.

All of this gave the studio immense pause when considering revisiting Furi in 2022.

The game has sold “year after year,” according to The Game Bakers co-founder and president Audrey Leprince in an interview with Waypoint, and a break between major projects has given The Game Bakers the opportunity to tweak and add more. Furi.

The problem, however, is that updating a game isn’t as easy as pushing a few lines of code and re-exporting the art at a higher resolution. There are huge logistical challenges.

“Apart from the game design, code and assets of the new [character]”, said Leprince, “we needed to update an old game completely on all platforms: update engine, SDK [software development kits]middleware, all platform-specific content, test all these versions, pass the platform check and re-release.

There are a lot of i’s to dot and t’s to go through, and came right after the release of its latest version, Havena game about two space lovers leaving their lives to forge something new. Haven shipped simultaneously on many platforms – PC, Switch, PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Xbox One, Xbox Series S, Xbox Series X – and required navigating release requirements in multiple regions, including Europe, the Americas, Japan and Asia.

The team is only 12 people and The Game Bakers does not work with a publisher. In many cases, the reason for working with an editor is that they can help you with these many small details.

Plus, the numbers didn’t lie. Furi on Xbox was selling “less and less”, and according to Leprince, and accounted for less than a “third” of sales on Switch, often considered one of the best places to sell indie games on the market’s biggest crapshoot . The problem was compounded by the inability to secure future promotions for Furi on the Xbox storefront for better awareness, and Haven “didn’t sell at all” on Xbox, outside of its Game Pass partnership.

You can see how sales break down explicitly, according to this chart provided by The Game Bakers, first showing what it looks like with Game Pass downloads:

And here, without Game Pass:

How 'Haven' sold on various platforms, not including Game Pass.

“We spoke to the Xbox team to see if there was a way to get help, but Furi didn’t fit the Game Pass strategy focused on new titles,” Leprince said. “That’s why we made the decision not to bring the DLC to Xbox at launch: the chances of the investment not being recouped were high.”

“Unfortunately, without Game Pass, it’s also very difficult for many indie games to be seen on Xbox.”

Because The Game Bakers is self-funding and publishes its games, the math has to add up.

For context, a third of FuriThe budget of, according to Leprince, was funded through a PlayStation Plus partnership with Sony, while a quarter of HavenThe budget for was funded by a Game Pass deal with Microsoft. Both meant the games were briefly “free” on both platforms.

“Being self-published is a different exercise than having an editor, that’s for sure. It at least gives us a lot of creative independence,” Leprince said. “But every game also requires a lot of business development and partnerships. We don’t make enough money with our games yet to be able to completely self-finance the next ones. Especially since our games cost between 1.5 and 3M€ [1.58 to 3.16 million USD] to develop. We are therefore grateful for the opportunities that partners like Sony or Xbox offer us.

For comparison, here’s how Furi sold on various platforms, first including downloads through its PlayStation Plus offering:

How 'Furi' sold on various platforms, including PS Plus. (

And now without PlayStation Plus numbers:

How 'Furi' sold on different platforms, without PS Plus. (

The future of Xbox is tied to the future of Game Pass; it’s the company’s ambitious pitch for the future of how video games will be played by a much wider audience than those who buy an actual Xbox. But Game Pass is only a few years old, and it’s only now that we’re beginning to see how its priority at Microsoft can and will impact games being made.

“Game Pass is such a fantastic platform for gamers,” Leprince said, “so there may be more Xbox gamers than ever interested in indie games. Unfortunately, without Game Pass, it’s also very difficult for many indie games to be seen on Xbox.

If you’re a developer who changed your design, production, or marketing because of Game Pass, PlayStation Plus, or other subscription services, I want to know how you got there. My email is [email protected], my signal number is 224-707-1561.

Leprice does not know exactly why Furi connected more strongly on PlayStation than Xbox, although she theorized the platform’s “strong connection to Japanese games”, which also influenced the design of Furi, may have played a role. But the game also feels very French.

“We’re not sure!” she says. “We’d like to know though!”

There’s a reason Xbox owners are hopeful. The unexpected outcry caught the attention of the developer, and if Furi sells enough, a return to Xbox is possible down the line.

“We sincerely hope the DLC will be a big hit,” Leprince said, “so that we can bring it to Xbox in the near future.”

Unused Xbox Live trial code found in old copy of Burnout 3 from 2004

A lucky Burnout 3 user shows off the hidden treasure found in the game’s box, even though that Xbox Live treasure is something they can’t use.

It is sometimes difficult to imagine the duration of a service like Xbox Live has been around. Then a player will stumble upon a hidden treasure, like the one found in a copy of Burnout 3, which revealed an old Xbox Live map from nearly 20 years ago.

The service known as Xbox Live debuted two decades ago this year, and it has long been expanding into one iteration of the Xbox internet offering or another. Over the years, Microsoft hasn’t been shy about enticing people to sign up for one of these accounts in order to try out the service. This means that he gave away a number of trial subscriptions, and these trial subscription cards were included in the boxes of Xbox games so people could see all the benefits that could come with a new game. .

It seems at least one person didn’t want or need to use a trial subscription when the service was still relatively new, as a social media post shows. Redditor nine16s took to the site to show that he opened up a used copy of Exhaustion 3 and found an unused Xbox Live card from 2004 that would let the bearer try the service for free for two months.

Technically, the particular version of Xbox Live no longer exists because it moved to Xbox Live Gold and could eventually disappear (or at least its name could) entirely. Despite the fact that the service has changed a lot of what it offers over the years, some other Reddit users were convinced that nine16s could still use the included code.

However, other users have pointed out that even if the Xbox Live Gold discontinuation rumor is not true, this particular trial subscription card can no longer be used for a very simple reason. It turns out that the card has an expiration date of March 31, 2005.

While this card isn’t a useful Xbox gift card these days, it’s still an interesting testament to how long Xbox Live has been around and how Microsoft has tried to entice gamers to try the service that allowed them to participate in multiplayer contests. . If nothing else, it’s an interesting throwback to the early days of Microsoft’s entry into the video game industry.

Steam is making the RPG 100% free for a limited time

On Steam, an RPG has been made 100% free for a limited time. Alongside a few other genres – like first-person shooters and strategy games – the role-playing genre feels right at home on PC. Apart from the rare PlayStation, Nintendo or Xbox exclusives, all the great role-playing games of the last generations have arrived on PC and work better on PC. For example, the best place to play The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt is on PC, assuming you have the PC to enjoy what the game offers on the platform. Unfortunately, The Witcher 3 was not made free on Steam. What has however, is “Get In The Car, Loser!”.

Described as a “lesbian road trip RPG” by developer Love Conquers All Games, the title was released in 2021. On Steam, the game has a “very positive” user review rating, with 84% of 247 reviews evaluating the game positively On the platform. It’s not hard to get a positive rating on Steam with how the rating system works, but nonetheless, it seems those who have played it have enjoyed it.

“A lesbian RPG road trip by the co-creator of Ladykiller in a Bind about the struggle for love and justice in the face of indifference, inspired by choice-driven visual novels and a JRPG-influenced combat system classics and modern. WILL YOU STAND AND FIGHT AGAINST EVIL,” read an official pitch for the match.

The title is free until May 24. After that, it will revert to its normal price of $10. Why the game is made free and why it is made free during this specific window, we don’t know. Once claimed, the game is yours and you can play as little or as much as you want.

Fix Error Code 0x80242020 in Microsoft Store or Xbox App

Do you receive an error code 0x80242020 when downloading apps from the Microsoft Store or downloading games from the Xbox app? It is an annoying problem, but some of these suggestions can help you fix the problem successfully.

Why does this error code 0x80242020 occur?

This can be due to a variety of reasons, including application-level corruption and cache issues. If the problem is not solved with restarting the PC, you may need to update, clear the cache and even reinstall the application. One of the most reported reasons is the conflict in the storage location between the PC and the Xbox app. Let’s fix it.

Error code 0x80242020 in Microsoft Store or Xbox app

Follow these suggestions to fix error code 0x80242020. Most of them will need admin permission to run these suggestions.

  1. Set storage location
  2. Update Microsoft Store
  3. Clear Microsoft Store and Xbox app cache
  4. Reinstall the Xbox app and the Microsoft Store

To note: This is not an issue of insufficient storage space. However, make sure you have enough space for games and apps on your PC.

1]Set storage location

Although this shouldn’t be the cause of this problem, we suggest it because it has worked for some and may work for you as well.

You need to make sure that the Xbox PC app’s default storage location is the same as the app’s regular storage location. This means that Xbox and PC should point to the same location for apps and games.

On Windows:

storage settings app location default

  • Open Settings using Win + I
  • Go to System > Storage > Advanced storage settings > Where new content is saved
  • Set location for new apps and exit

In the Xbox app:

xbox app default game path

  • Open the Xbox app
  • Click the profile icon, then click Settings.
  • Go to General and set the same path as the settings under Game Installation Options.
  • Restart the Xbox app and try to install the app.

2]Update the Microsoft Store

Microsoft Store Update

If you’re having trouble with the Microsoft Store, try opening it from the apps menu and checking for updates. Sometimes updating the app can fix known issues. Once the store downloads the update, it will relaunch after installing the new update.

3]Clear Microsoft Store and Xbox app cache

If your Microsoft Store cache is corrupted, it may affect your store’s connection to the server.

To fix the problem, you can either delete the cache manually using WSReset.exe or use the Reset option in Settings.

Open the Run box, type wsreset.exe, and press Enter.

Reset Microsoft Store with the WSReset Command

When using the Reset option, go to Apps > Microsoft Store and click on the three-dot menu. Then scroll down to find the Reset option and run it.

Reset Microsoft Store app settings

You can also choose to repair before trying the Reset button. If there is any corruption related to files associated with Microsoft Store, it will fix it.

For clear the Xbox app cache:

  • Use Repair and Reset option first
  • Then sign out of the Microsoft account.
  • Restart your PC, then log in again with the same account.

If that doesn’t work, there’s always an option to completely uninstall these apps and then reinstall them.

3]Reinstall Microsoft Store and Xbox app

If your apps are outdated, it can lead to a corrupt installation. To solve this problem, you can use Powershell to reinstall Microsoft Store. We will first uninstall the apps and then reinstall them.

You can run the below command on Windows Terminal with administrator permission to uninstall Microsoft Store and Xbox app.

Get-AppxPackage Microsoft.XboxApp | Remove-AppxPackage
Get-AppxPackage *WindowsStore* | Remove-AppxPackage

Close PowerShell or Windows Terminal and restart your PC.

Once done, run the command below on Windows Terminal. The command mentioned below will reinstall the Microsoft Store.

Get-AppXPackage *WindowsStore* -AllUsers | Foreach {Add-AppxPackage -DisableDevelopmentMode -Register "$($_.InstallLocation)AppXManifest.xml"}

Once done, you can then download and install the Xbox app from the Microsoft Store. You will need to sign in to both apps using the Microsoft account.

These suggestions should resolve error code 0x80242020 in the Microsoft Store or Xbox app.

Is it possible to change the location of Windows applications after installation?

Changing the location of installed apps is only possible with Microsoft Store apps. So yes, it is possible, but it should be allowed by app developers. Some applications are limited because the performance can only be obtained when they are installed on the primary drive.

What is error code 0x80070422 in the Microsoft store?

Error 0x80070422 can occur when trying to install an Xbox Game Pass game on your PC. It might indicate that the Microsoft Store is not working on your PC due to Windows Update being disabled on your computer. Run Windows Update troubleshooter first and see.

New Xbox app update promises to improve search results

Microsoft has rolled out a new update for the Xbox app that promises to fix its broken search bar and inaccurate search results.

According to patch notes shared earlier today, the new Xbox app update “finally improves search results for all PC Game Pass titles, including those from EA Play and Ubisoft. “. The update also includes some minor fixes for custom touch controls for cloud gaming and accessibility features.

The much-needed update comes about a month after the Xbox community came together to strongly demand that Microsoft fix the Xbox app’s search capabilities as soon as possible. Trying to search for a specific game was nearly impossible on the app because the search bar searched through the descriptions of each listing instead of matching the query with the actual titles.

Therefore, searching for Dead Cells, for example, would return results such as Martha is Dead, State of Decay 2: Juggernaut Edition, Back 4 Blood, Hades, etc. In another example, a search for Outer Wilds would return The Outer Wilds because the application searched for Outer and Wilds as separate entities.

The broken state of the search bar made it incredibly frustrating to find a specific game to buy or even find users to log in on the Xbox app. The new update should fix these lingering issues from last year.

Just note that Microsoft has only released new Xbox app update 2205.1000.17.0 for Xbox Insiders on PC. The update should be rolling out globally for everyone in the next few days, provided there are no unprecedented issues.

Xbox Live outage highlights serious problems with Series S and the digital age

Digital gaming has risen to the forefront of the industry, used by major and independent developers. As physical media continues to decline across many mediums in favor of digital downloads and ownership, console hardware is beginning to follow the trend. Xbox consoles are no exception.

Although the shift to digital goods offers a number of quality of life benefits to the consumer through improved accessibility and mobility, the benefits of the digital age outweigh its potential drawbacks. Xbox Live has recently been the subject of severe outages, raising significant questions about the long-term feasibility of an all-digital console.

GAMER VIDEO OF THE DAY

RELATED: The Epic Games Store and Xbox Free Games With Gold are both offering replays for May 2022

Xbox Live interruptions

Over the past few days, Xbox Live has been plagued with a litany of issues that have understandably angered the affected playerbase. Some Xbox Live users have reported that the service has been down for over 12 hours. While service was eventually restored for most players, others reported subsequent issues and hours-long downtime.

However, these issues were not limited to a general downtime of the service. Many users have been unable to download Xbox Live Games With Gold titles, launch Game Pass titles, and access their digital game library due to recent network issues. While normal service has gradually begun to resume as these issues are resolved, the scale of outages and issues that the past few days have fostered have started a dialogue regarding the effectiveness of digital console gaming.

Problems with the digital age and the Xbox Series S

The most glaring issue regarding the digital age of gaming that has come to the fore over the past few days of Xbox Live troubles is the industry’s reliance on online services. In the case of Xbox Live, users have suddenly been disappointed with the extent to which their console gaming experience depends on functioning servers and an established internet connection, even though online functionality should theoretically not be required.

Without an established connection to Xbox Live, gamers found their accounts completely unable to verify their membership status for a litany of services. This means that their entire Xbox Game Pass library has become obsolete, along with any games purchased digitally through the Xbox Store. With a large number of users doing the majority of their games through these mediums, their entire console can become essentially useless as these types of network issues impact the experience.

This gravity is only compounded when gamers consider the popular Xbox Series S console. This current-gen console is a more affordable alternative to the Xbox Series X, with less capable internal hardware and no physical disc drive. By design, all games held on a Series S console can only come from online digital sources, making it entirely dependent on digital media. The same can be said for some digital-only models of Sony’s PlayStation 5.

If Xbox Live is to suffer seriously sustained outages like it has historically, let alone other services like PSN, the potential issues are now much bigger than just not being able to participate in online multiplayer modes. Instead, core console functionality now depends on Xbox Live, and that trend doesn’t seem to be slowing anytime soon. Hopefully Microsoft and other developers are able to beef up their servers to avoid frequent downtime.

Backbone One iPhone review: Smart clip-on game controller

Attach the Backbone One to your iPhone to get the physical buttons and sticks you’ve been missing. It has a lot in common with an Xbox controller, while being designed specifically for iPhone gaming. And a Lightning connector makes it easy to hook up.

I spent many hours testing the Backbone One. Here’s why I completely love it, especially for cloud gaming.

This post contains affiliate links. cult of mac may earn a commission when you use our links to purchase items.

Backbone One for iPhone Review

Playing with virtual on-screen controls is fine for casual iPhone gaming. But role-playing games and first-person shooters are much easier to play with a physical game controller. These types of games require so many buttons, joysticks, and triggers that following them on an iPhone screen is a real challenge. I often have to glance at the screen to find the button I need, and it kills my character.

The Backbone One for iPhone somehow wraps an Xbox controller around the handset, which makes gaming a whole lot more fun. I never look for the controls – I can feel them without looking.

And many iOS games work with this type of accessory. This includes much of what’s in Apple Arcade, and more.

A wraparound iPhone game controller

Backbone One for iPhone has all the buttons, thumbsticks and triggers of an Xbox controller.
Photo: Ed Hardy/Cult of Mac

Split an Xbox controller in half and insert a telescoping iPhone stand in the middle and you have the Backbone One.

Buttons, joysticks, and triggers are laid out the way Microsoft does…almost. The left D-pad and left stick aren’t aligned, but they’re also not as angled as an Xbox controller. The same goes for the controls on the right side. And the two triggers aren’t as offset from the bumpers as I’m used to.

None of this affects gameplay. Not to me, anyway. Although the buttons, sticks, etc. aren’t exactly where my fingers expect them to be after many hours of using an Xbox controller, they’re pretty close. I never found myself fumbling for them – my hands immediately adapted.

Before commenting on the usability of the various buttons, I want to say that the Backbone One is extremely easier to use than the on-screen buttons. But nothing is perfect. The ABXY buttons are wonderfully clicky, but the left D-pad is beefier than I like. Both sticks are good, with decent travel, although less than I’m used to.

I miss the grips a bit on long gaming sessions. But overall, the iPhone game controller is comfortable to hold and easy to use.

Backbone rearranged the buttons and left out the handles to slim down its accessory. It’s 6.8 inches wide, 3.75 inches tall, 1.2 inches thick, and 0.3 pounds, making it considerably more portable than Microsoft’s version.

Connect your iPhone to Backbone One

Backbone One for iPhone ports
A Lightning connector and Lightning port are some of the Backbone One’s best features.
Photo: Ed Hardy/Cult of Mac

Slide the two halves of the Backbone One, place your iPhone in the middle, then close the two sides. The handset is now locked in place.

The gamepad is “compatible with all iPhones”, according to its developer. It certainly fits my 6.1-inch iPhone 13 just fine. The iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max are also compatible, but are so thick that they require an adapter, which is included in the box.

The Backbone One connects to your iPhone via a Lightning connector on the right side. This means you don’t need to pair the gamepad with your handset: it’s literally plug and play. And with a wired connection, there’s no question of controller lag. I couldn’t detect any no matter how hard I tried.

The accessory draws power directly from the iPhone – there’s no battery to charge. And there’s a Lightning port on the bottom right edge of the controller so you can plug it in to charge your phone while you game.

There’s a 3.5mm headphone jack on the bottom left edge so you can plug in headphones while you game.

Find iPhone games with controller support

You’ll have no trouble finding iPhone games to play with the Backbone One. Support for external game controllers like this is built into iOS, and Apple encourages developers to use it.

Backbone’s own iOS app recommends many games that support the accessory and helps you keep track of which ones you have already installed.

And a large percentage of Apple Arcade games support controllers, like the excellent sea horn 2. I have also tested the Backbone One with other Arcade games, including Samurai Jack: Time Battle and Horn of the Ocean: Chronos Dungeon. (My job is sometimes fair terrible.) This all worked perfectly. In my opinion, just about any subscriber to Apple’s gaming service can benefit from an external controller.

I also highly recommend an external controller for cloud gaming services. For example, I played the Epic Games that just came out fortnite on Xbox Cloud Gaming with this clip-on controller and it worked great. Other such services are Google Stadia and Amazon Luna.

To note: The Backbone app is free. Backbone+ is an optional paid service with some additional benefits. The controller comes with a one-year subscription to the service.

Backbone One revises the final thoughts

Backbone One for iPhone wraps around your handset.
The Backbone One for iPhone might just be the mobile game controller you’ve been looking for.
Photo: Ed Hardy/Cult of Mac

Over the years, I’ve spent a few thousand hours with a gamepad in my hands. Although I’m not an inveterate gamer, I play above average. The Backbone One immediately felt comfortable and natural to hold. It’s undoubtedly much easier to use than the on-screen controls.

The controller makes your iPhone a much better gaming platform especially for playing PRGs and FPS.

Pricing

The Backbone One is $99.99 on the Backbone website. Or you can buy it on Amazon.

Will buy: Amazon

If you want to shop around, the GameSir X2 Lightning ($69.99) is very strong competition. Read my review to see if you prefer this alternative.

Those who just can’t let go of the actual shape of an Xbox controller should check out the RiotPwr Rotor Riot RR1852 iOS Controller ($49.99). I also tested this controller.

Anyone who already has an Xbox Wireless Controller and wants to use it with their iPhone can consider the OtterBox Mobile Game Clip for MagSafe ($39.95). I also tested this accessory.

Microsoft provides update on Xbox Live outages

After several days of fluctuating Xbox Live outages, Microsoft is updating players on the current status of these outages and when to expect a full fix.

It seems safe to say that, in recent days, Xbox Live struggled. Xbox Live was down for 12 hours first, then another major outage hit a few days later, also lasting a few hours. Meanwhile, some players have reported that they are still unable to access digital games they own or titles through Xbox Game Pass. This lasted between outages, and by all reports it’s still a lingering issue for some players.

Downdetector, a website that tracks outage reports based on how high they are above average (because it’s common for some people to have a problem at one time or another), shows a big spike in Xbox Live outage reports around 1-2 p.m. on May 8, this subsided but has lasted until today. It is still early in many parts of the world, which is remarkable given that reports this morning are increasing, albeit less sharply than previous days.

GAMER VIDEO OF THE DAY

RELATED: Microsoft Patent May Verify Physical Games for Xbox Digital Library

Xbox Support commented on persistent issues with Xbox Live, reporting “a significant improvement in the issue” that prevented users from purchasing and playing games. As for those who are still having lingering issues with Xbox Live, the official support Twitter account suggests that the problem should be fully alleviated in the coming days with a new update. It is likely that until this new update is rolled out, some players will still struggle with their games.

Apparently there is a workaround although it is by no means guaranteed or simple. First, those who share games with their Xbox consoles are likely to be the most affected. Not having an Xbox console set as a home console makes the situation worse. But if players go to network settings, turn off their Xbox, wait a few minutes, restart the console, then get back online, it will eventually reconnect and hopefully work better. Many reports suggest that it still takes several tries.

Of course, these Xbox Live issues have only received so much attention. Many are understandably upset that they won’t be able to play their games, especially with much of that concentrated at the end of last week and over the weekend. It’s worse for those who only buy digital games or can only buy digital games, like Xbox Series S owners. Many have asked Microsoft to adjust its DRM settings because of this, but it doesn’t did not comment on these discussions. For many, this realizes many woes about the digital age of gaming seemingly to come but also somehow here.

What is Xbox Cloud Gaming and how does it work?

Xbox Cloud Gaming is Microsoft’s aptly named cloud gaming service, and allows anyone with a decent internet connection to stream games remotely to their laptop, web browser, phone, tablet or any other where she can install the application.

So how does it work? Usually, when you download and play a game on your Xbox, all the processing of game code and graphics happens on your living room console. With Xbox Cloud Gaming, you don’t need the console.

Instead, all of this complex processing is handled online on one of Microsoft’s server farms, and the resulting video stream is streamed to your device over the internet. You’re essentially playing games on a shared Xbox Series X hundreds of miles away, rather than just one in the same room. Think of it like watching a live Twitch stream, but you can control what’s happening on screen.

However, this has some drawbacks. Inputs from your controller take a fraction of a second to be sent to the server, and the video stream takes fractions of a second to return to your device, so cloud gaming can feel less responsive in fast-paced games. As internet speeds improve, this delay becomes less and less noticeable, although anyone with a slower internet connection will see reduced performance and dropouts.

To help mitigate this, the game’s resolution can be dynamically scaled down and compressed to take up less bandwidth, so you sometimes get less visual fidelity than when playing a game you’ve downloaded.

Cloud games also have great advantages. The most obvious is that you can play the latest Xbox Series X games without owning the console. You can even stream them to your iPhone or Android device, as long as you have a compatible Bluetooth controller.

How does Xbox cloud gaming work?

If you already own an Xbox, streaming still has advantages over downloading. Since Xbox Cloud Gaming games run remotely on a very powerful server, you can directly access any game without waiting for a download to complete. Load times are reduced and you can join your friends in multiplayer gaming sessions as easily as pressing play on a Netflix movie.

‘Forza Horizon 5’, available on Xbox Cloud Gaming

(Microsoft)

Microsoft hasn’t said outright that Xbox Cloud Gaming is here to replace traditional console gaming, but the company is laying the groundwork to expand its audience far beyond just gamers who own an Xbox. Thanks in large part to Microsoft’s success in deploying Azure data centers in countries around the world, the company is well ahead of rival Sony in bringing cloud gaming to anyone with a screen and a computer. an Internet connection.

Xbox Cloud Gaming is part of Microsoft’s new “Xbox Everywhere” initiative, which, if successful, could eventually make the physical Xbox console redundant. Just as Netflix and Spotify conspired with widespread broadband adoption to kill Blu-Ray players and personal music collections, cloud gaming could turn Xbox from a commodity into a service.

How to Use Xbox Cloud Gaming

The number of devices supporting Xbox Cloud Gaming is growing rapidly, but whichever way you decide to play, you’ll first need to subscribe to Xbox Game Pass Ultimate (£10.99 per month, Xbox.com) . New members get their first month for £1, and you’re free to cancel whenever you want.

However, as of last week there is an Xbox Cloud Gaming title that you don’t need to pay for. Fortnite was recently added as a free game, with even more free games expected to arrive in the coming months. This means you don’t need to pay for an Xbox Live Gold or Xbox Game Pass Ultimate membership to play Fortnite on Xbox Cloud Gaming, but you do need to create a free Microsoft account. Once registered, you can browse and play games on the Xbox Cloud Gaming homepage.

‘Fortnite’, available for free on Xbox Cloud Gaming

(Epic Games)

Xbox Game Pass Ultimate gives you access to a mobile library of over 100 games, including day-of-release Xbox Game Studios games, indie games, third-party games, and classic titles from as far back as Xbox. origin. Not all of these games are available on Xbox Cloud Gaming, but most are.

Microsoft is also working on an Xbox streaming app for smart TVs and an Amazon Fire TV dongle-style dongle that will allow any TV with an HDMI port to instantly stream Xbox games to Xbox Cloud Gaming.

Does Xbox Cloud Gaming work on iPhone?

Yes. Apple did not initially support the Xbox Cloud Gaming app on iOS, citing App Store rules on how paid content and in-game purchases work. Microsoft managed to work around the issue by integrating Xbox Cloud Gaming in a web browser. Rather than downloading an app, iPhone users can simply go to Xbox.com/play in the Safari browser to launch Xbox Cloud Gaming as usual.

Interestingly, this new setup means iPhone users can play Fortnite again for the first time since Epic Games removed the game from the App Store, following a high-profile row with Apple over reduction in platform profits.

‘Microsoft Flight Simulator’, available for free on Xbox Cloud Gaming

(Microsoft)

There are games that can be played using touch controls, fortnite is one, but for a more comfortable, console-like experience, you’ll want to use a phone clip to tether your iPhone to a compatible Bluetooth controller, like the official Xbox Wireless Controller (£54.99, Bt.com) or even the PlayStation DualShock 4 Wireless Controller (£49.99, Currys.co.uk).

Is Xbox Cloud Gaming free?

Xbox Cloud Gaming isn’t free, with one exception. Microsoft has partnered with Epic Games to bring fortnite to the Xbox Cloud Gaming service for anyone with a free Microsoft account. This means you can open a new browser tab right now and be playing in minutes.

To play games that are not fortnite, you’ll need an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscription (£10.99 per month, Xbox.com). The company also suggested that it plans to bring more free games to Xbox Cloud Gaming in the coming months.

xbox: Microsoft Xbox Streaming Key and Xbox app delayed for another 12 months

Almost a year and a half ago, Microsoft Gaming CEO Phil Spencer confirmed that he would be launching a new Xbox app for TV and a smart streaming stick that will allow users to play Xbox games directly on their TV. The company again confirmed the same in June last year.
However, a new report from Venture Beat suggests that Microsoft will launch the Xbox stream key in about 12 months. This means that the company delayed the launch of the device which was supposed to ship within the next 12 months last year.
The report claims that the delay in the launch of the Xbox Streaming Stick is due to supply chain constraints caused by the current situation in Ukraine and the lockdown in China.
Although the features of the Xbox streaming stick are pretty much unknown, expect the fact that it will offer Xbox cloud gaming and allow players to pair an Xbox controller or other compatible controllers to play the game.
The streaming stick will feature a similar design statement as the Amazon Fire TV Stick or any other streaming stick like Nvidia Sheild. The streaming stick is also expected to offer the ability to stream movies, shows, and more. through OTT apps and services.
In addition to the streaming stick, Microsoft is working with Samsung to develop an Xbox app for Samsung smart TVs. And, the app is also expected to arrive within the next 12 months.

Microsoft Xbox Live game suffers massive outage, fixed now

Posted: Date Posted – 12:15 PM, Mon – 9 May 22

New Delhi: Gaming enthusiasts went through a tough time when Microsoft Xbox services suffered a massive outage that left them unable to launch cloud games.

Microsoft then fixed the issue that lasted for several hours late Sunday.

The Xbox Live outage prevented some gamers from launching cloud games, playing digital games and making purchases from its store.

“Gamers may see an improvement when purchasing and launching games and Cloud Gaming sessions. We’re working on a full resolution. If you’re still having issues, restarting your console may help,” support said. Microsoft Xbox in a tweet.

He then informed that the problem had been fixed.

“Players should no longer experience any issues when it comes to purchasing, launching games, or joining Cloud Gaming sessions. Thanks for being patient. Happy gaming!”

Some players couldn’t even access streaming apps, including Netflix and Disney Plus.

Some users have reported that Xbox tricked them into signing in to play their own games.

“No I still can’t continue with my games keep saying check my connection but it’s ok,” one Xbox user tweeted.

Over 10 million people have streamed games on Xbox Cloud Gaming to date.

Many of Xbox’s most popular titles, including Flight Simulator, are now accessible for the first time on low-spec phones, tablets and PCs.

Microsoft plans to introduce an Xbox Game Pass family plan this year. The company currently offers Xbox Game Pass or PC Game Pass for $9.99 per month.

A Fortnite and Fall Guys crossover event could be on the way

It looks like a Fortnite and Fall Guys crossover event is on the way.

As spotted by PCGNFortnite leaker iFireMonkey recently noticed that two mysterious new URLs had been registered – Epic Fallguys Extension and Epic Fallguyz Ektenzion – which until recently were redirecting to the official Fortnite site anyway.

Now iFireMonkey believes they are related to a Fall Guys x Fortnite trial event, and the URLs have been updated accordingly. If iFireMonkey is correct, the crossover event will not happen on just one game, but on both at the same time.

There’s no official confirmation, of course, so for now all we can do is take the news with the proverbial bucket of salt until Epic or Mediatonic somehow confirms. of another. But given that Epic Games owns Mediatonic, some fans are wondering why it’s taken so long for the games to come together – especially since leaks on a Fortnite / Fall Guys collaboration started swirling over a year ago now.

ICYMI, Fortnite has technically returned to iOS devices thanks to expanded Xbox Cloud access and Microsoft’s new partnership with Epic Games. As Catherine Gluckstein, vice president and chief product officer of Xbox Cloud Gaming, explained in a new blog post earlier this week, Fortnite is now available for free through the Xbox Cloud Gaming beta in 26 countries.

Although you can no longer download the game to your Apple or Android device from the store, if you have a Microsoft account and internet access, you can play Fortnite via the cloud directly in a web browser without worrying about a download. or a membership. As Austin summarized in his excellent report at the time, Fortnite is also available on Windows PCs – but, let’s face it, it’s not that complicated to get Fortnite on this particular platform…

As for other Fall Guys news? Last I heard, Fall Guys developer Mediatonic has confirmed that it’s “finalize” the Xbox and Nintendo Switch versions of the game…but we haven’t gotten a solid release date for them yet.

Xbox Live is recovering from a multi-hour outage

An Xbox Live outage prevented some gamers from launching cloud games, playing digital games and making purchases from its store. The issues began around 4 p.m. ET Saturday night and weren’t resolved until early Sunday morning.

“Players should no longer experience issues when it comes to purchasing, launching games, or joining Cloud Gaming sessions”, Xbox Support said in a tweet. “Thank you for being patient. Good game!”

This latest set of issues follows a massive outage lasting several hours on Friday night and Saturday morning. Some players were unable to start Cloud Gaming sessions, launch digital games, make purchases, or even access streaming apps such as Netflix and Disney Plus.

Although the Xbox seemed to solve these problems, it looks like issues with its store, digital titles, and Cloud Gaming resurfaced on Saturday night. Players should have been able play games offline during the breakdown with their Xbox game as their console “house”yet, some reported that Xbox was still prompting them to sign in to play their own games. Like my colleague Tom Warren points outthis issue draws attention to Microsoft’s DRM policy which makes it more difficult, if not impossible, to play purchased digital games offline.

Update, May 7, 5:45 p.m. ET: Update to add that restarting your Xbox console may help fix some issues.

Update, May 8 8:18 a.m. ET: Updated to indicate that the outage has been resolved and added additional information for context around Microsoft’s DRM policy.

Battle Kid: Fortress of Peril Critical

I’m no stranger to the term “retro”. Review enough indie games and you’re bound to come across a developer or two who use the word to describe why their game is so brilliant. In practice though, this tends to result in a game with an hour or two of simplistic gameplay, complete with standard pixel art and a boring, repetitive chiptune soundtrack slapped on top.

But Battle Kid: Fortress of Peril is different. This is a true retro experience, warts and all. This shouldn’t surprise you, considering it’s a port of a real NES homebrew game released in 2010.

Why I’m only now finding out that people are still making cartridge games for the Nintendo Entertainment System is anyone’s guess. But, I digress.

In Battle Kid, you play as Timmy, an unremarkable student in the Disch Research Facility’s prestigious combat training program. His former friend, Chester, was kicked off the show for cheating and is now back for revenge. It’s up to you to stop it by traveling to the eponymous Fortress of Peril and fighting off the waves of enemies that live there.

As a story, there is nothing exciting about it. It’s there to just set up the action though. In fact, the game itself makes this clear by including an arcade mode that will automatically skip most cutscenes.

Focusing on the gameplay ends up being the right choice because, simply put, it’s awesome. Battle Kid is your quintessential Metroidvania and includes everything you’d expect from a game that fits that description.

The Fortress of Peril is an absolute maze, full of different enemies, bosses, and new items to collect. There are a ton of dead ends as some paths are inaccessible without the correct keys or abilities. It’s huge too, with the game comprising over 500 different screens.

They are all beautifully designed by the way. Battle Kid absolutely nails the 8-bit art to deliver something vibrant and colorful and that wouldn’t look out of place in the mid-1980s. The massive old-school borders are just the icing on the cake. And the soundtrack is even better. It’s loud and piercing and exactly what you’d expect from an NES game about a dangerous fortress full of goons. It actually changes between areas to fit the theme too.

battle kid fortress of peril exam 2

It should surprise no one that Battle Kid is actually very difficult. You’ll have to dodge waves of enemies, often while tackling some pretty tough platforms. And that’s before you even reach the bosses, where the difficulty is heightened even further. There’s also no temporary invulnerability, so expect to get hit multiple times in quick succession.

And if you’re a punishment glutton, you can increase the difficulty all the way to “unfair”, which gives you 1 HP and a death cap of 1.

It’s safe to say you’re going to die. A lot.

And it’s good. In fact, I enjoy the no-frills challenge that Battle Kid offers. But it is here that the limitations of the original software begin to become clearer.

Most notably, Battle Kid completely lacks any type of autosave, preferring (or being forced) to use the old password system which has been irrelevant since around 1996. If you’ve never encountered this before, it means you’ll need to find a checkpoint and then write down the generated password if you want to go back to your save.

It’s a system that will probably be nostalgic for some, but ultimately a system that should have been left in the past in its place. It’s cumbersome and boring to use, especially in a game as difficult as this. If you’re like me, you’ll have to beat the same boss multiple times because you’ll probably end up dying a few screens later before you find another checkpoint. And believe me, it’s not fun.

battle kid fortress of peril review 3

It also lacks any kind of button mapping, which is a shame because the current button layout, while understandable on stock hardware, feels counter-intuitive on a modern controller. You will shoot with A and jump with B, but it seems like it should be the other way around. You’ll also have to put up with it, unless you manually reassign the buttons in the Xbox settings. This seems like such an unnecessary step though, and I see no reason why this feature couldn’t have been included in the ported version.

These two questions do not, however, tip the final verdict. Battle Kid: Fortress of Peril is still a brilliant little blast from the past. It doesn’t try to reinvent the wheel, and it basically offers nothing you haven’t seen before. Instead, it tries to deliver a solid slice of nostalgia and a decent challenge. And on these two points, it is quite successful. Battle Kid looks, sounds and plays like something straight out of the 1980s, and I encourage everyone to check it out. The Fortress of Peril awaits you…

Xbox Live users currently cannot access digital games

Xbox users hoping to enjoy weekend games have had a rough day as several gamers are reporting massive issues with Xbox Live. What makes this partial outage so problematic is that the issues are not just affecting online connectivity, but preventing users from accessing digital content in general.

These Xbox Live issues began earlier today with streaming apps such as Netflix and Disney+, with content in those apps inaccessible for about four hours. Although this issue was eventually resolved, new issues arose soon after. For unknown reasons, users are currently unable to purchase digital games from Xbox Marketplace or start sessions through Cloud Gaming. However, this is just the tip of the iceberg.

GAMER VIDEO OF THE DAY

RELATED: Xbox Game Pass Confirms Another New Game For May 2022

Not only are Xbox users unable to purchase new games or use Xbox Cloud Gaming services, they also cannot access their digital games. Even if players have a fully downloaded digital game or attempt to load an Xbox Game Pass title they’ve been playing for hours, they may not be able to launch the game at all. It goes without saying that this is a major issue, although the official @XboxSupport Twitter account has confirmed that the issues are being investigated and a fix is currently in the works.

While there was a brief period earlier today when @XboxSupport reported that the issues had been resolved, it appears the fix was only temporary. Just three hours after the Tweet was posted that gamers could start enjoying their weekends and playing their favorite Xbox titles again, a post mentioned that the same problems launching and buying games had returned. Cloud gaming sessions still can’t start either. No ETA has been provided for a fix at the time of writing, so players will want to keep an eye on social media for updates.

On the Xbox Support website, fans can check the current status of Xbox Live and keep an eye out for issues. Currently, the majority of the services are up and running, with multiplayer games, friends and social activities, and an account and profile all listed as up and running. The sections marked as “limited” are Cloud gaming, Games and gaming, and Store and subscriptions. The issues in question apply to Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One, and Xbox 360 consoles, so all players in the Xbox ecosystem could be affected by the issues.

Hopefully a fix for this Xbox Live issue arrives soon, as this fix is more permanent than the one from earlier today. With Xbox fans unable to play their digital games, stream from the cloud, or add to their game collection, many are understandably frustrated.

WWE is working on something “in the role-playing space”

During a WWE earnings call this week, chief brand officer Stephanie McMahon expressed the company’s commitment to video games, including its pursuit of a project “in the role-playing space “.

The squared-circle’s muscular machismo seems like a perfect fit for gaming, but WWE’s legacy on that front has been decidedly mixed, with a few fondly remembered arcade games and 16-bit days overshadowed by the series. WWE 2K, including the most recent entries McMahon brought up on the call:

“We have been extremely pleased with the relaunch of our premium video game console franchise, WWE 2K,” McMahon said. “After taking just over a year to improve the game engine, we worked hand-in-hand with our partners at Take-Two Interactive, listened to our customers and fans, and regained their trust by delivering a game that has exceeded their expectations. WWE 2K22 was a commercial and critical success, with the highest Metacritic scores on Xbox and PlayStation platforms in franchise history, with over 5.6 million hours watched on Twitch at this day.

The previous entry, 2K20, was a notorious flop, with graphical and gameplay glitches making the rounds on YouTube and an expensive $90 Deluxe Digital Edition do little to help its reputation. 2K22 fared better, but the “highest Metacritic scores on Xbox and Playstation platforms in franchise history” fall short. the 70’swith the PC version down to 72. Decent numbers, but not exactly encouraging for a high streak.

Continuing, McMahon addresses the part of the call that interests us: “We continue to see strength in our mobile games performance with 2K and Scopely, SuperCard and Champions, and recently signed a new agreement in the gaming space of role to be announced shortly.

So there’s a WWE RPG in the works, apparently. The fact that McMahon mentions this project in the same breath as WWE mobile games may imply that it won’t be a full console/PC release, but my mind is still blown at the thought.

Could we see something centered around a full career/story mode, taking a garage gym person to the heights of sports-entertainment superstardom? It could have character building and classes with different archetypes, murderers and speedsters, with abilities that affect your performance in and out of the ring.

Maybe it could have a BioWare-style morality system, with a heel/face meter and party approval from other wrestlers in your stable. The would-be game developer could also go in an entirely different direction, perhaps another wrestling-themed fantasy world like the metal-themed dimension of Brütal Legend.

We probably shouldn’t get too far ahead of ourselves, especially considering where McMahon next takes the gaming part of the presentation:

“We also continue to evaluate the metaverse, both the walled garden environments that already exist, as well as the decentralized properties,” McMahon said. “Expect to hear more in the months to come”

Wrap it in people, it’s a wrap. These are the New Day NFTs from now on.

Play Civilization and Overcooked for free on Xbox this weekend

If you have an Xbox, you don’t have to worry about finding new games to play this weekend. Starting today (May 6), Microsoft is offering three great games, for free, through Sunday. If you want to play Civilization VI, Overcooked, or Call of the Sea, but don’t feel like spending tens of dollars for the privilege, now is your chance. All you need is an Xbox console and an Xbox Game Pass or Xbox Live Gold membership.

The information comes from the official Xbox Wire blog, where Marketing Program Manager Dan Hickey described the weekend promotion. The process is about as easy as it sounds. From Thursday, May 5 through Sunday, May 8, three Xbox games are free for Game Pass and Gold subscribers: Call of the Sea, Sid Meier’s Civilization VI, and Overcooked! All you can eat. You can download and install the games through the Xbox storefront and play them until 11:59 p.m. PT on Sundays.

If you decide to buy the games, you might be pleased to know that two of them are on sale. Call of the Sea, which usually sells for $20, is now $12. Civilization VI’s standard version, usually $30, is now $9; the Anthology Upgrade Pack, which used to be $50, is now $25. Overcooked, however, is still at its standard price of $40, so taking the plunge may require a bit more consideration.

In case you’re unfamiliar with all three games, they’ve all received massive praise from critics and fans alike. Call of the Sea is a puzzle/adventure game in which you play as a 1930s explorer in search of a lost civilization in the South Pacific. Civilization VI is the latest entry in Sid Meier’s beloved strategy series, where you guide one of humanity’s most influential cultures from the Stone Age to the Space Age. Overcooked! is a multiplayer board game, where you and a partner manage an increasingly chaotic kitchen. (It’s a great game to play with your partner.)

While free weekends aren’t uncommon, it’s relatively rare to see three games featured at once. It’s even rarer that all three of these games are good enough. While it’s a little disappointing that “free” games require paid subscriptions, it’s hard to think of another downside to the deal. You can play the games for three days; you can buy two at a discount afterwards; all of your achievements and save data will be retained. Take a look and you might be pleasantly surprised.

You Shouldn’t Dismiss Xbox Free Games With Gold For May 2022

the Xbox Live Gold The free games program doesn’t get as much attention as Xbox Game Pass or Microsoft’s PS Plus. That’s largely because Microsoft has stopped trying hard to add interesting games to the Games with Gold program, opting instead to add those games to Xbox Game Pass. There are reports that Microsoft will one day completely phase out Xbox Live Gold by combining it with Xbox Game Pass, but no official plans to that effect have been announced at the time of this writing.

GAMER VIDEO OF THE DAY

Since Microsoft has clearly stopped trying with the Xbox Live Gold free games program for most months, it’s safe to say that many users have started ignoring them. After all, the main reason to sign up for Xbox Live Gold is to have access to online multiplayer anyway, with the monthly free games added years later as a bonus. But just because Xbox Free Games with Gold has been mostly disappointing for the past two years, doesn’t mean subscribers should dismiss them altogether.

RELATED: Xbox Is Ending Support for Windows Phones

Some Xbox Live Gold subscribers might very well be tempted to completely dismiss or ignore Xbox Free Games with Gold for May 2022. However, that would be a mistake. While none of the games included are exactly blockbuster, top-tier releases, there are some underrated gems available as part of the lineup this month. It doesn’t hurt to claim the games for its collection, and so Xbox Live Gold subscribers might as well snag them while they’re available.

Free Xbox Games with Gold Games for May 2022

  • Yoku’s Island Express (May 1 to May 31)
  • The Inner World: The Last Wind Monk – (May 16 – June 15)
  • Hydro Thunder Hurricane (May 1 to May 15)
  • Viva Pinata: Party Animals (May 16 – May 31)

Currently, Xbox Live Gold subscribers can claim Yoku Island Express and Hydro Thunder Hurricane from the free May 2022 Games with Gold range. Yoku Island Express is a unique platformer that combines traditional 2D platformer elements with pinball game mechanics. Also incorporating Metroidvania elements, Yoku Island Express received mostly positive reviews upon its original release in 2018, and shouldn’t be overlooked, especially by pinball and platformer fans. It’s one of the best free Xbox games with Gold games that have been given away this year, and it’s available until May 31.

The other free Xbox Games with Gold game for May 2022 available right now is Hydro Thunder Hurricane. For the uninitiated, Hydro Thunder Hurricane is a boat racing game originally released on Xbox Live Arcade. It received mostly positive reviews from critics and has become a fan-favorite XBLA game, so Xbox Live Gold subscribers should grab it while it’s free. They have until May 15 to add it to their collection.

Hydro Thunder Hurricane is admittedly an odd case and may not be as appealing as Yoku Island Express. Besides the fact that Hydro Thunder Hurricane is an older game, it was also offered as one of the free Xbox games with Gold games in the past. In reality, Hydro Thunder Hurricane was one of the September 2017 Games with Gold free Xbox games. Some subscribers also had trouble claiming Hydro Thunder Hurricane since then it’s been free. Either way, it’s a solid game and still one of the best free game deals that have been offered this year. Its inclusion may be a bummer for dedicated Xbox Live Gold subscribers who clamor for every free game, but it’s a win for those who missed out the first time around.

Later this month, Xbox Live Gold subscribers will have two more games to claim for their digital libraries. From May 16 to June 15, The Inner World: The Last Wind Monk will be available as one of the free Games with Gold games. A sequel to The inner world, The Inner World: The Last Wind Monk is a classic-style point-and-click adventure game that received mostly positive reviews when it was first released in 2017. The point-and-click adventure game genre is not for everyone, but those who love it. give it a chance will probably come out satisfied.

And finally, the latest Xbox Free Games with Gold game for May 2022 is Viva Pinata: Party People. A spin-off from Viva Pinata franchise, Viva Pinata: Party People is essentially the mario party version of Viva Pinata. It has the worst review scores of any free Xbox game with Gold games for May 2022, but it may still be nostalgic for some gamers who played it when it was initially released. It should also be a solid choice for anyone looking for a board game to play on Xbox.

The May 2022 Xbox Free Games with Gold games aren’t going to set the world on fire, but they shouldn’t be completely ignored. Xbox Live Gold subscribers should make sure to claim the games while they are available and try to get the most out of their subscription.

After a while, a Reddit user realized that the problem was a result of an error made by Microsoft. The company has listed two different but identical iterations of Hydro Thunder Hurricane. Players were supposed to receive the standard Xbox 360 version of Xbox Live Games with Gold. However, the game available for free on the service is Xbox Live Arcade. At the moment, there is no clarity on what led to this confusion. However, it can be assumed that the technical team somehow made a mistake.

Top 8 Ways To Fix Xbox App Not Downloading Games On Windows 10 And Windows 11

While Microsoft has improved the default Xbox app on Windows by leaps and bounds, the app still misbehaves. Sometimes the Xbox app fails to open and some users also reported that the app fails to download games on PC. If you’re having that last problem, we’ve got you covered.

Microsoft recently renamed Xbox Game Pass to PC Game Pass, and if you’re a subscriber to it, the Xbox app remains the central place to download games, interact with the community, and more. The app that fails to download games can frustrate you. Here are some useful methods to fix Xbox app not downloading games on Windows 10 and Windows 11.

1. Check internet connectivity

Most Xbox games are over 1GB to 2GB in file size. They need a strong Wi-Fi connection or preferably a consistent LAN connection to download them successfully.

If you have installed a dual-band router in the office or at work, you can connect to a faster 5 GHz Wi-Fi frequency band. For best results, we recommend using the Ethernet connection (if possible).

Step 1: Launch the Windows Settings app (use Windows + I keys).

2nd step: Go to Network and Internet. Make sure it shows connected status.

You can even visit fast.com to test your internet speed before downloading a big game to your computer.

2. Check Storage

This is another basic step that you need to tick before downloading games from Xbox app. If you are using less storage on your Windows 11 PC, you may encounter errors during the download process.

Step 1: Launch Windows Settings and go to the System menu.

2nd step: Select Storage and check the remaining space to use.

If you have less storage on your PC, you can enable Storage Sense to automatically free up space, delete temporary files, and manage locally available cloud content. While you’re at it, use the cleanup recommendations to remove the dummy files. Windows 11 will show how many GB of storage will be available after using the tool.

The Xbox app also lets you change the download location on your PC. If you have less storage on your primary drive or partition, choose a second drive or partition as the default location for game storage. Here’s what you need to do.

Step 1: Open the Xbox app on your computer.

2nd step: Click on the profile name at the top and go to Settings.

Step 3: Go to the General tab and change the location from the game installation options.

3. Check Xbox Service Status

If the Xbox servers are having trouble staying online, you’ll experience issues connecting, downloading, and other app functions. None of the tricks mentioned in the post will work now.

To confirm the issue, you can head to the Xbox status page and check if everything is working fine or not. Wait for Microsoft to fix the issues on their end and try downloading games again.

4. Check PC Game Pass Subscription

Maybe you have unpaid dues or the bank has blocked your credit card. Microsoft cannot automatically charge the PC Game Pass subscription to your account, which will terminate your plan. You no longer have access to the Game Pass library, nor can you download games.

You need to verify your added payment method. You can even remove the existing card from your account and add a new active one.

The same is true when trying to buy individual games through the Xbox app. Go to your Microsoft account on the web and navigate to the Payment & billing tab. Select payment information from the drop-down menu and edit your payment method.

5. Log out and log back in

When Xbox fails to authenticate your account, it won’t allow you to download games from the Xbox app. You can temporarily log out of your account and log back in using the same credentials.

Step 1: Open the Xbox app on your PC.

2nd step: Select your profile name at the top and click logout.

Step 3: Log in again with the same account details.

Try downloading games and you should not encounter any errors.

6. Run Windows Store Apps Troubleshooter

Windows 11 offers a handy troubleshooter to repair Microsoft Store apps on your computer. Let’s use it to fix Xbox app not downloading games on Windows 11.

Step 1: Open the Windows 11 Settings menu (use Windows + I keys).

2nd step: Select System and open the Troubleshoot menu.

Step 3: Select Other convenience stores.

Step 4: Run the Windows Store app troubleshooter.

7. Repair the Xbox app

If you’re still having issues with the download process on Xbox, it’s time to fix the app. Here’s how.

Step 1: Press Windows Key + I to launch Windows Settings, select the Applications menu and click Installed Applications.

2nd step: Scroll down to Xbox and click on the three-dot menu and select Advanced Options.

Step 3: Select Repair from the Reset menu.

Windows 11 will run the repair tool and fix problems downloading games in the Xbox app.

8. Update the Xbox app

Are you using an outdated Xbox app on your PC? You might encounter problems with downloading games. Open Microsoft Store and install pending Xbox updates to fix the problem.

Start playing games on Windows

With an extensive library of games and great value with the PC Game Pass subscription, Windows is the top choice for gaming. Xbox failing to download games can spoil your fun. What trick worked wonders to solve the problem? Share your findings in the comments below.

Hitman 3: IO Interactive Delays Indie Mode to Second Half of 2022, Reveals New Look at Ambrose Island Map

IO Interactive shared its plans for Year 2 of Hitman 3 in January, revealing Elusive Target Arcade, a PC VR version, plans for the World of Assassination trilogy to come to Xbox Game Pass, and a new mode called Freelancer.

This new mode was supposed to be released this spring, but in a new update released by the studio today, Freelancer has a new target window: the second half of 2022. IO Interactive says it sees Freelancer as “the next evolution of Hitman and a whole new way to engage with the world and characters “It’s been built into the world of the Assassination universe over the past seven years. Due to the scope and involvement of Freelancer, the team says they need more time to work on it.

“The truth is, this is a luxurious decision for us to make,” IO Interactive wrote in a blog post. “Hitman 3 has been a success and with that we are able to give our team that extra time to tighten the bolts and make sure the mode is as close to our ambitions as possible. We want it to land well and be a platform for Hitman players to enjoy this game world for a long time. In fact, we’ve had several rounds of internal testing, and we’ve even shared playable builds with some of our community members of trust and base to give feedback and share ideas after extensive playtesting. All of this was done on their own machines and in their own homes to truly replicate what it will be like when we launch the mode.

“Playtest feedback has been overwhelmingly positive and the mode is in great shape. As we said, we’re taking a bit more time to tighten up the mode and improve several things that we believe will significantly improve the experience. While we’re working on these improvements, we’re also preparing to dive deeper into the mode and share more of what you can expect. With all that in mind, we’re now aiming to release the mode Freelancer game on Hitman 3 in the second half of 2022. We think it will be worth the wait.

IO has changed its Year 2 plans to accommodate this delay, including adding a few more featured contract sets than it would normally release during this month. The studio also revealed that new content slated for April has been moved to the May 24 update, including the usual ET Arcade unlocks and word that “Hitman 3 ET is back on the menu.” You can check out the new May Year 2 roadmap below:

As you can see, this May 24 update, dubbed Patch 3.110, will also include PC RayTracing. Additionally, IO Interactive revealed that their new map, now titled Ambrose Island, will be added to Hitman 3 in July.

“This new map will have an intriguing narrative for Hitman fans, as it takes place before the events of Hitman 3 and fills in some gaps in the World of Assassination storyline,” IO Interactive wrote in its blog post. “We’re excited to share more details in the lead up to release, and we’re even more excited to show you another look at the location in all its glory right now.”

  • Fixed stability issues.

Keep in mind that this update is only available on Xbox consoles. Players on other platforms can continue playing without needing to download anything new.

If you are currently in-game on Xbox, you must close your game and re-launch it to receive new update files.

fortnite is now available for free on PS4, PS5, Xbox One, Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, Nintendo Switch, GeForce Now, Android and PC. The iOS version of the game is still sanctioned by Apple as their legal dispute with Epic Games has not resulted in any meaningful outcome for either party.

Microsoft brings Snapchat-like Stories to Xbox app on iOS, Android

The concept of time-limited stories has gained a lot of traction on social media platforms like Snapchat, Instagram, and Facebook. Citing the popularity of Stories, Microsoft has now jumped on the bandwagon and brought Snapchat-like Stories to its Xbox app on iOS and Android to let gamers share disappearing content with friends and the Xbox community. See the details below.

Xbox app on iOS and Android wins Stories

Microsoft recently shared an official blog post to announce new features and changes coming to the Xbox app on Android and iOS. As part of the May update, the Xbox app will support Snapchat or Instagram-style stories that allow players to create, share, and view stories in the Xbox community. The company says the Stories feature “lets you show off your skills and stay up to date with your friends.”

When updating their Xbox app on Android and iOS, users will see the new Stories carousel right at the top of the app’s home page. There will also be users’ gamertag as well as a “+” button that will allow them to add their own stories to the platform. Users will also be able to caption stories.

Microsoft is bringing Snapchat-like Stories to the Xbox app on iOS and Android

It is said that users will be able to share a game clip, screenshot or in-game achievement on their stories and they will be live for 72 hours. That’s much longer than the 24-hour window on Snapchat, Instagram, and other platforms. Shared stories also stay in a user’s activity feed on their profile for as long as it lasts for viewers.

Apart from that, Microsoft has also added priority beacon support for latency-sensitive outbound network traffic like party chat, console streaming, and multiplayer. The company added new Quality of Service (QoS) marking option to support new priority feature and prevent connection issues during periods of heavy congestion on supported networks. Users can find the new QoS setting in the Network Settings section of the General section of the Settings menu in the app.

Now, regarding the availability of the update, it is currently rolling out to users in Australia. However, Microsoft has confirmed the update will be rolling out to other Xbox supported regions soon. However, he did not provide an exact release schedule. So stay tuned for more updates and let us know your thoughts on the new Stories feature for the Xbox app in the comments below.

How to Cancel an Xbox Live Subscription

Canceling an Xbox subscription is easier than you think. Microsoft continues to streamline the process so you can cancel Xbox Live Gold subscription in just a few steps.

You can cancel Xbox Live through a web browser or through the console. Both options lead to the same Microsoft service and subscription management website.

How to Cancel Xbox Live

Similar to canceling Xbox Game Pass, you can cancel Xbox Live from the console or a browser.

The console process is the same across the Xbox One and Xbox Series console families. These devices share interfaces, options and services.

Cancellation of the service does not entail any additional or hidden costs. But it has a particular function.

You can cancel the subscription on the expiration date. Depending on the time that has passed since your last payment for the service, you may be eligible for an immediate refund.

Cancel Xbox Live on a Web Browser

To cancel Xbox Live Gold subscription from web browser, here are the steps:

  1. Open your web browser on your PC
  2. Go to the Microsoft Services the page or the Microsoft account page
  3. Click on Login top right. If you are already signed in to Microsoft services on your browser, skip to step 5
  4. Sign in with your Microsoft account credentials, the same account you use on your Xbox sign in to xbox live
  5. Now you are back on the home page. Click the profile icon at the top right and click My Microsoft account.
    profile-icon-my-microsoft-account
  6. Click it Services & subscriptions tongue.
    services-and-subscriptions
  7. The new page displays the list of Microsoft services under your account. Find it Xbox Live Gold section

    xbox-live-gold-manage2
  9. On the right side, click Upgrade or unsubscribe
  10. To select unsubscribe
    unsubscribe
  11. Click on Confirm
    click-confirm

After cancellation, Microsoft may ask you for two additional options:

  • Don’t bill me on (next service renewal date) subscription refund
  • Cancel immediately and get a refund

These options only appear if you purchased the service within the last 30 days. To see, Microsoft is offering a refund if you cancel Xbox Live within the first 30 days after your last payment. The funds would return to your payment option within 72 hours.

Disable recurring billing

You may also see the option to “Turn off recurring billing”. This is an automatic subscription cancellation, as you will have to pay for the service manually on the expiration date.

Naturally, if you don’t pay, Microsoft simply cancels the service. However, you will not be entitled to any type of refund.

Here are the steps to manage recurring billing:

  1. Come back to your Microsoft account services and subscriptionthe site
  2. Locate the service you want to manage, for example Xbox Live Gold
  3. Click on Manage xbox-live-gold-manage1
  4. Under the service title, you will see “Regular payment.” On the right side of this option, click “Switch
    change-of-recurring-invoices
  5. Select Enable or Disable, depending on what you want

Cancel Xbox Live on Console

There is a built-in option on the console to cancel Xbox Live Gold or any other Microsoft subscription.

Unfortunately, the option seems incomplete, as the process opens the console’s built-in web browser to complete the process.

Here are the steps:

  1. turn on your console
  2. press the Xbox button on the controller to open the guide xbox button
  3. Go to Profile & system
  4. To select Settings profile and system settings
  5. Go toe Account tab to the left xbox account menu
  6. To select Subscriptions on the right panel xbox subscriptions menu
  7. To select Xbox Live Gold

  10. Click on Manage manage xbox live on xbox
  11. Select the option you want to use in the interface. You can Cancel by opening the Upgrade or cancel drop down menu.
    click upgrade or cancel
  12. You can also click Switch to turn off recurring billing disable recurring billing on xbox ui

Is Xbox Live Gold worth it?

is xbox live worth it

Xbox Live Gold is a benefit package for Xbox Series and Xbox One users. Mainly, it gives you access to the multiplayer aspect of the games you buy. So, for example, if you want to play Dead by Daylight on Xbox, you’ll need a Live subscription.

Then, it offers exclusive discounts and free games to its users. Xbox shares a few games that Live users can download for free each month. Often, these are lesser-known indie titles. You will not lose the free games you have downloaded by canceling the service.

There are reasons you might want to cancel it, though. First, free games do not require paying for Xbox Live. For example, you can download and play Fortnite or CoD: Warzone with no problem.

Second, you may be against the existence of the service, because Microsoft (and Sony) charge you for using your internet connection to play a game you’ve already purchased. After all, PC gamers don’t need to pay any extra fees to access online games, so you can save some extra cash by playing on the larger Windows platform.

Related questions

What if there is no cancellation option?

If you don’t see an undo option, you’re in debt. In other words, your payments are late and you will have to pay the service obligation before you cancel.

Why would you have an overdue balance on Xbox?

Your subscription may not pay for renewal automatically, and this is often because Microsoft is having issues with your payment option.

Common problems include:

  • Insufficient funds on a debit card
  • Your credit card has expired
  • Your credit card has been stolen
  • Your closed credit card account
  • You have a new credit card and have closed the old one
  • Your bank declined the purchase

How do I pay an overdue balance on an Xbox service?

To settle a late payment, you must go to Microsoft’s services and subscriptions page.

Then you should click Manage on the service in question then click on Change the way you pay. Next, add a new payment option.

Are Xbox Live and Xbox Game Pass the same thing?

Gambling is becoming an increasingly popular pastime, slowly crossing the line between niche interest and mainstream attention.

Accessibility is one of the main culprits behind the growing popularity of video games, as big names like Xbox and Playstation strive to make their consoles and apps easier and more available than those of their competitors. Xbox has largely won this war thanks to several stellar offerings, including Xbox Game Pass and Xbox Live, both of which set Xbox apart from the competition. These options are largely unmatched by other brands and companies, leaving Microsoft ahead of the pack when it comes to gaming choices.

The range of options provided by Xbox has led to a little confusion among some potential subscribers, as advertising blurs the line between Game Pass and Xbox Live. Are the two services the same or do they offer different benefits?

Are Game Pass and Xbox Live the same thing?

Game pass

A Game Pass Subscription can only be used by users with an Xbox Live account, so the confusion between these two Xbox offerings is completely understandable.

Xbox Live is well worth the $10 monthly cost, especially when paired with Xbox’s other stellar options. A basic subscription to Live will give users access to online games and multiplayer options, as well as streaming services – like Netflix and Hulu – in addition to discounted games and several free downloads by month. It’s entirely separate from Game Pass, meaning budget users can enjoy the benefits of Live without shelling out the extra money for a Game Pass subscription.

If you have the money, a Game Pass subscription is worth it. The service has a wonderful selection of titles that would typically cost up to $80 for a low, consistent monthly price, and even offers cloud gaming for those with a robust internet connection. The library of games that comes with a Game Pass subscription is in addition to the four free monthly options offered by Xbox Live, leaving users who subscribe to both with a constant influx of new content.

A basic Game Pass subscription will set users back $9.99, and its much more stacked older sibling – Game Pass Ultimate – ups the ante for only a slight price increase. Ultimate costs $14.99 per month, but adds perks — like cloud gaming, access to EA Play titles, and Game Pass for PC — that are too tempting to ignore. The service is worth it for any gamer who likes to try out a wide range of games and, even when combined with a Live subscription, will cost users less than most TV streaming services.

Xbox app now has Snapchat-style stories

In the framework of of the latest Xbox update, Microsoft announced that the Xbox app now allows users to create, share, and view stories in the activity feed.

Available for the first time in Australia, “and coming soon to other Xbox-supported regions,” the new Stories feature lets you “showcase your skills and stay up to date with your friends,” by sharing your favorite gameplay moments, as long as they’re in-game clips, screenshots, or achievements.

Similar to the Stories feature on other apps such as Snapchat, Facebook, and Instagram, users will be able to quickly reply to Stories with a message or reaction while browsing the new Stories channel located to the right of the screen. homepage. .

Unlike other social media apps that only retain Stories for 24 hours at first, Microsoft decided that Xbox app Stories would persist three times as long, allowing you to browse content from the last 72 hours on the Xbox app. brand new Xbox app. chain of stories.

Along with this major Xbox app update, Microsoft also announced in the Xbox May Update new QoS tagging options that allow users to set “priority tags on outgoing network traffic latency-sensitive, such as party chat, console streaming, and multiplayer (in supported games).”

Release date, pre-order info, gameplay and more

Redfall is a fascinating new project from Arkane. Breaking the mold set by their previous immersive sims, it’s a cooperative shooter focused on intense action and teamwork. Let’s hope that this brave new decision will bear fruit. Here’s what we know about it so far.

Redfall release date

At the moment, we don’t have a release date set yet. Last year it was announced that it would arrive in the summer of 2022, but we haven’t seen many updates since then. There’s a new Xbox and Bethesda showcase in June and, if we don’t see a Redfall release date so, it seems likely that we might see some delay.

If we see an official release date soon, we’ll update you here on all the news.

Redfall Pre-Order Details

The Bethesda site has a full page dedicated to Redfall but we don’t have any pre-order details yet. It seems likely that these will come with a release date announcement.

On the page, you can access an Arkane community and download an exclusive wallpaper for free. Along with that, you can download unique images, reviewing our four main characters as well as general atmospheric stills. You can access the site here.

Redfall Gameplay Details

Redfall is a cooperative FPS in which you play as one of four main characters. You are placed in the town of Redfall, Massachusetts which has been cut off from the rest of the world. In doing so, the vampires stalk the humans and a vicious cult mysteriously supports them. You and your buddies will be the last defense against their evil plans.

Although we’ve seen a trailer, we haven’t seen any official gameplay yet. It seems to be inspired by co-op shooters like Back 4 Blood and Left 4 Dead, but with a vampire twist. All main characters have special powers, functioning much like a hero shooter. You have to choose your character and drive a stake through your enemies.

Xbox app update lets users share content in Stories

Microsoft has announced its latest Xbox app update for iOS and Android. Xbox users in Australia now have new ways to share their favorite gaming content with Snapchat-like stories. They will be able to create, share and view their friends’ stories from the Xbox app.

Stories will let you express your gaming skills and keep your friends informed about what you’ve been playing. Your stories can include game clips, screenshots, achievements and more from the Xbox community. The update also allows you to reply to stories from other players with a message or reaction.

The Stories Channel is located right on the home screen of the Xbox app. To create a story, click the + button for your gamertag located in the stories channel, then select the game clip, screenshot, or achievement you want to post from the gallery. Once selected, you will be taken to a story preview page where you can choose to add a caption to your post and then click the post button located at the bottom right.

Unlike Snapchat, Stories on the Xbox app will last 72 hours. Any content you share can be found in your profile activity feed.

The tech giant also updated the app to allow users to add priority beacons with Quality of Service (QoS) tagging; this update prioritizes outbound traffic like chats, streaming, and multiplayer. It protects the gaming experience from connection issues during times of high network traffic.

In the Settings app under General, Network Settings, Advanced Settings, you will see a new button for QoS marking settings. Under QoS Tagging Settings, there are two options: DSCP Tagging Enabled and WMM Tagging Enabled.

The updates are only available in Australia at the moment, but will soon expand to other regions.

May 2022 Xbox app update to revamp Activity Feed with Stories for all users coming soon – TouchArcade

Microsoft just announced a nifty new feature coming to the Xbox App (free) on iOS and Android in all regions coming soon by extending a previously released feature to all users. The company previously updated the app with a brand new look, but removed some features. You still can’t do everything the previous app let you do, like buy games and redeem codes, but it slowly started adding more features. Starting today in Australia and soon in other countries, the Xbox app will allow users to create their own stories. These can include screenshots, achievements, gameplay videos, and more, with others responding to your stories. Until this update, the stories feature was only available to official game accounts that used it to share news. The new Stories feature will be open to you once it rolls out to your region on the Xbox app. You will see your avatar with a + button in the stories channel as shown in the screenshots below. This channel displays content from the last 72 hours.

Until this feature is rolled out to all regions, you can grab the Xbox app here on the App Store for iOS. You can download it from Google Play for Android here. Over the past few months, it’s been great to see Microsoft add touch controls to so many games for Xbox streaming for Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers who use the cloud portion of the service, but hopefully more effort will be deployed to improve the Xbox app on iOS and Android. It always costs like a few steps behind the PlayStation App whereas the situation was reversed a few years ago when Xbox app was unbelievable. Hopefully this new stories feature is the start of many more additions to come to the app this year. Do you use the Xbox or Xbox Game Pass applications often?

Some Xbox Live Gold subscribers are having trouble downloading Hydro Thunder Hurricane

Microsoft is giving away 2010’s Hydro Thunder Hurricane for free as part of Games with Gold, but some subscribers are having trouble claiming it.

Released in 2010, Vector Unit’s Hydro Thunder Hurricane brought a classic arcade franchise to then-modern consoles. The over-the-top boat racer has enjoyed respectable success on PC and Xbox 360 and is free as part of Xbox Live Games with Gold until May 15.

Unfortunately, it seems that many Xbox Live Gold subscribers are unable to download their free game. This is a major annoyance for many people interested in this retro throwback to an even more retro racing game. Fortunately, a workaround can help players download Hydro Thunder Hurricane despite the problem.

GAMER VIDEO OF THE DAY

RELATED: Xbox Live Gold Subscribers Get 3 Bonus Games For May 2022

Xbox Live Gold subscribers pay $10 per month for access to online play and four free games each month through the Games with Gold program. So some gamers were surprised when they tried to download the game just for the market to inform them that Hydro Thunder Hurricane is unavailable. The issue affects players regardless of region, with Xbox players in the US, Canada, UK, and Europe reporting the same issue. The issue also didn’t care whether players were on consoles, browsers, or the Xbox mobile app.

A Reddit user finally discovered that the problem seems to be caused by an error on the part of Microsoft. The company lists two separate but identical versions of Hydro Thunder Hurricane. Xbox Live Games with Gold was supposed to give players the standard Xbox 360 version, and that’s what the Games with Gold page linked to. However, it is the Xbox Live Arcade version that is free. It’s unclear exactly how this mix-up happened, but it seems there were some crossed threads behind the scenes.

Luckily, there is a way for Xbox Live subscribers to get their free game despite this issue. First, players must find Hydro Thunder Hurricane on the Xbox 360 Marketplace. Then find the version labeled Full Game – Hydro Thunder Hurricane. It should have a listed retail price of $14.99 but with a gold box listing it as “free” for Xbox Live Gold members. Next, players should select “Download to Xbox 360”, ensure the price is still “Free”, and then claim the game. This will associate Hydro Thunder Hurricane with the player’s account, allowing them to download it on modern Xbox consoles.

Hopefully Microsoft fixes the problem before too long. However, if Xbox Live Gold subscribers are still having problems downloading Hydro Thunder Hurricanethe steps above should allow them to claim their free game.

Hydro Thunder Hurricane is available on PC and Xbox 360 and backward compatible on Xbox One and Xbox Series X/S.

Xbox May Update Adds New Social Feature and More

Xbox’s latest monthly update is out, which usually means a few new features for users, along with fixes for some issues and other tweaks. The same is true this month as well, with the May update now available to introduce two main features. One of them is a social feature that will allow Xbox users to better show off what they’re up to, and the other is a tagging service that could also be construed as a social feature, given that it can help to preserve the quality of the various social activities in which the players could participate.

This console update doesn’t come with traditional patch notes like any other update, but Xbox has once again posted a lengthy article about its contents in the Xbox Wire. There, Xbox talked about the new “stories” feature coming to the Xbox app. It’s a feature already used in social networks like Facebook and Instagram, and it will allow players to create a sort of quick slideshow for their friends to watch.

“The Story Channel is located right on the home screen of the Xbox app,” said Kristen Mann, Senior Manager of Group Programs on the Xbox Experiences team. “To create a story, click the + button for your gamertag located in the stories channel, then select the game clip, screenshot or achievement you want to post from the gallery. Once selected, you will be taken to to a story preview page where you can choose to add a caption to your post, then click the post button at the bottom right. The story channel displays content from the last 72 hours, and anything you share is also posted to your activity feed on your profile.

Another new feature added this time is “Quality of Service Marking”. With this tagging option, users can flag certain features that they like most often so that they get priority in case of online congestion. These include things like multiplayer elements as well as party chat with more information found on Xbox’s support page.

“Quality of Service (QoS) marking is a feature that prioritizes values on latency-sensitive outbound network traffic, such as party chat, console streaming, and multiplayer (in supported games) “, reads the support article. “Under ideal networking circumstances, you shouldn’t notice much difference between tagged and untagged traffic. But during times of network congestion, supported networks will prioritize tagged traffic over untagged traffic. untagged or lower priority tagged to reduce latency and throughput impacts.”

Xbox’s May Update should be ready to download now for those who haven’t set those builds to download automatically.

Video games featuring the Looney Tunes that weren’t popular

The Looney Tunes have been among popular culture’s best-known cartoon characters since their introduction in the 1930s, and since then they’ve had an abundance of merchandise based on them, from toys to clothing, comic books and everything. the rest.

RELATED: Scooby-Doo Games You Didn’t Know About

Since 1983, Looney Tunes have also appeared in their own video games and still do to this day, with over 80 games featuring characters from the franchise available on a variety of platforms. These games also span various genres including platformers, sports games, action titles, and more. Fans are spoiled for choice, so we’ve created a list of lesser-known video games.

ten looney tunes

Released by Sunsoft in 1992 for the original Game Boy and relaunched in 1999 for the Game Boy Color, Looney Tunes is a platform game where you play as a different Looney Tune on each level. Each character also has a distinct ability to help them through their respective levels, whether they’re used to defeat or evade enemies. Most levels also have a unique boss that the characters must face at the end of the path.

Being a Sunsoft title from the 90s, Looney Tunes has a catchy and memorable chiptune soundtrack by famous Japanese composer Manami Matsumae.

GAME VIDEO OF THE DAY

9 Looney Tunes B-Ball

Released for the Super Nintendo in 1995, just a year before the theatrical release of Space Jam, Looney Tunes B-Ball, also known as Looney Tunes Basketball, is an arcade sports game that has often been compared to NBA Jam due to its similar premise. and wacky power-ups. In addition to a single-player mode, Looney Tunes B-Ball also has a 2 vs. 2 multiplayer mode.

RELATED: Every Looney Tune That Appears In Space Jam 2

Each character has a special long-range shooting technique when taking a specific power-up and playing defense. Sometimes the ball also turns into a dog for no reason, which makes it harder to control the pitch.

8 Crazy carrot

Released for Game Boy Color in 1998, Looney Tunes: Carrot Crazy, known as Bugs Bunny & Lola Bunny: Operation Carrot Patch in Europe, is a platform game and one of the few Looney Tunes games that features Lola Bunny and is not basketball themed. .

Players control Bugs or Lola, who can switch between them at any time, as they collect carrots and search for the individual who stole the carrots from their garden. Although Bugs and Lola have a similar jump and attack, Bugs has the ability to dig and push heavy objects, while Lola can use her parasol to float similarly to Princess Peach.

7 Looney Tunes: Marvin Strikes Back

Marvin Strikes Back, known as Looney Tunes Collector: Martian Revenge! in Europe, is the sequel to Looney Tunes Collector: Alert! and was released for Game Boy Color on November 23, 2000, just five months after the first game was released.

RELATED: Looney Tunes Collector: Alert! Is the Pokémon clone Game Freak could learn from

Unlike the first title, players take on the role of Marvin himself and the dog K-9, who, like Bugs Bunny before, must use the abilities of other Looney Tunes characters if they are to complete Marvin’s goal. Marvin Strikes Back is also compatible with Looney Tunes Collector: Alert! and may have captured characters transferred from it, somewhat similar to the time machine featured in the Pokemon Gold, Silver, and Crystal versions.

6 Looney Tunes: Sheep Raider

Looney Tunes: Sheep Raider, which is called Sheep, Dog ‘n’ Wolf in Europe, launched for PC and PlayStation in 2001. It stars Wile E. Coyote’s cousin Ralph Wolf and rival Sam Sheepdog , and it’s based on the series of animated shorts that both characters featured in.

Sheep Raider is a stealth video game in which Ralph must steal sheep – without harming them – while sneaking around and avoiding Sam the sheepdog, whose speed increases with each level. Ralph can also use a variety of ACME gadgets to get close to the sheep or lure them to him.

5 Loons: Fight for Glory

Loons: The Fight For Fame is a 3D fighting game with a cel-shaded art style and was released exclusively for Xbox in 2002. Compared to some previous Looney Tunes games, Loons has a much smaller cast, with just four characters playable characters, including Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck, Sylvester, and the Tasmanian Devil – although a few other characters still appear in the game.

Loons supports up to four players and has them battle against each other while collecting various ACME gadgets to stand out from the competition. Several mini-games can also be played once a player fills up their star meter by picking up various items.

4 Taz: Wanted

Taz: Wanted is a cel-shaded 3D platformer released for GameCube, PlayStation 2, Xbox, and PC on September 17, 2002, just two days after Loons’ North American launch. In Europe it launched alongside Loons on September 27, 2002 and has a much cleaner look in comparison.

RELATED: Best Cel Shaded Video Games

After Taz and She-Devil are captured for a zoo by Yosemite Sam, Taz breaks out and goes on an adventure to free She-Devil from that zoo while Tweety helps him. The goal of each level in Taz: Wanted is to destroy all the wanted posters while Tweety gives you clues on how to do it.

3 Looney Tunes: Duck Amuck

Based on the eponymous 1953 animated short, Looney Tunes: Duck Amuck was released for the Nintendo DS in 2007. Duck Amuck is similar to a handful of pet breeding games on the Nintendo DS and allows players to interact with Daffy Duck in different ways. However, its main objective is different (opposite) to the one usually found in the genre: you have to make Daffy as angry as possible by pissing him off and beating him in various mini-games.

Duck Amuck also features a multiplayer mode where players can team up to annoy Daffy or play games against each other. Additionally, you can connect to the Nintendo Wii version of Looney Tunes: Acme Arsenal.

2 Looney Tunes: Acme Arsenal

Looney Tunes: Acme Arsenal was released in 2007 for PlayStation 2, Nintendo Wii, and Xbox 360 and is an action game with four playable characters and two-player co-op. A notable aspect of Acme Arsenal is that in addition to Bugs Bunny and Daffy Duck, who have been playable in many other Looney Tunes games, Foghorn Leghorn the rooster and Gossamer the big orange furry monster are the other two playable characters. of this game.

This isn’t the first time these characters have appeared in a Looney Tunes game, but it’s an interesting choice to cast them as the protagonists here instead of more popular characters.

1 Looney Tunes: Galactic Sports

Launched for the PS Vita in 2015, Looney Tunes Galactic Sports is a sports game where the six playable Looney Tunes characters compete in six different events so that one of them becomes “the best athlete in the galaxy”.

Galactic Sports also stands out for using different PS Vita features for each event, such as touchscreen and gyroscope functionality. Another interesting aspect of Galactic Sports is that it uses character designs from The Looney Tunes Show, which had ended its run on Cartoon Network nearly two years before the game was released.

Xbox Live Gold subscribers get 3 bonus games for May 2022

Without prior announcement, Microsoft is suddenly giving Xbox Live Gold subscribers three bonus games for their collections.

Each month, Microsoft gives its Xbox Live Gold subscribers four games to claim for their digital libraries, with two Xbox 360 generation titles and two Xbox One games up for grabs. There are exceptions to this rule, as Microsoft sometimes offers free games as bonuses. That’s the case for May 2022, with Microsoft offering three additional games for Xbox Live Gold subscribers to claim for the month of May.

In addition to the previously announced Xbox Free Games with Gold Games for May 2022, Microsoft has added braid, Clone Clydeand Joe Danger 2: The Movie to the mixture. out of these, braid is by far the most notable, as even though it’s an older game at this point, it’s still garnered critical acclaim and won numerous awards. In reality, braid is often called one of the best indie games ever made, so any Xbox Live Gold subscribers who have never played it have a great opportunity in their hands.

We spoke to Flying Wild Hog about Trek To Yomi and the game’s influences

During our chat with Trek to Yomi producer Katarzyna Szymczak-Shalska, we also discussed the possibility of the game getting a photo mode, if we’d ever see a colorful cut of the game and door hinges of all things . The game releases May 5 on PS4, PS5, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, and PC.

It seems like an exhausting effort has gone into making Trek to Yomi authentic, including sourcing incredibly rare instruments for the score. Approximate value of the rarest instrument used?

Syzmczak-Shalska: We intended to harmonize the music with the visuals and the story. A more current contemporary theme would have distorted the reception of the game. We began looking for composers who would match the mood of the game and ensure the historical accuracy of the sound. Needless to say we found them!

Composers Cody Johnson and Yoko Honda, who have true samurai heritage, only used Japanese instruments from the Edo period. In part, the score was based on the sounds of gagaku, an ancient form of Japanese imperial court music. Gagaku used techniques of counterpoint, i.e. several melodies sounding together, hundreds of years before European composers.

In terms of ballpark value, we don’t want to pick favorites. All the instruments used in the score were invaluable, as they helped create the unique atmosphere of Trek to Yomi.

For anyone unfamiliar with Akira Kurosawa, the main inspiration for Trek to Yomi, which of his works do you each consider essential viewing?

SS: The first choice is a no-brainer, “Seven Samurai”. I mean, it’s such a classic that it doesn’t get better. This is Kurosawa’s magnum opus. The staging, the lighting of the montage, the frames and the lighting. Everything is epic! It laid the foundation for contemporary action films.

Next up is “Throne of Blood,” Kurosawa’s take on the Shakespearean classic “Macbeth.” I mean Toshiro Mifune has reached god level acting in the role! To be honest, if you like action movies, you can’t go wrong with Kurosawa movies.

Devolver seems to have had a good strike rate with Xbox Game Pass, how has the move to the service benefited Trek for Yomi and the team?

SS: Trek to Yomi is a new IP. Right now it needs to be exposed and the best way to do that is through Xbox Game Pass.

Some of my favorite games are considered short, and Trek to Yomi would be around five hours long, which is music to my ears. While I’m sure the journey itself will be worth it, how has the team ensured there will be some replay value?

SS: Trek to Yomi can be beaten in five to six hours, and beating the game grants you access to a new difficulty mode. It’s essentially “one shot, one shot”, in other words, a game changer!

The game also has four different endings, so there’s plenty of room for replayability in Trek to Yomi.

After obviously working on Shadow Warrior for so long, was Flying Wild Hog the natural choice to pivot to a project so rooted in Japanese culture and its mythologies?

SS: Trek to Yomi was produced by the Rzeszow team. Our team has only provided limited support on Shadow Warrior 3. That being said, we’re still Flying Wild Hog, so fast-paced, action-packed games are in our DNA.

Japanese culture was something relatively new to us, so we had to delve deeply into it and quickly become familiar with it. I guess you can say something like Trek to Yomi had to happen anyway.

I feel like a lot of the more fantastical footage of Trek to Yomi – its supernatural elements etc. – have been largely kept secret. How weird does the game get?

SS: Trek to Yomi gets weird, especially in the Yomi part of the trek. Look what I did there? More seriously, you will see a lot of weird and fantastic scenery and creatures later in the adventure.

As someone who spent time with the first hour, I noticed the fight starting to decline. Granted, I had mostly only used the katana, but how do things stay interesting throughout Hiroki’s journey to hell and back?

SS: Hiroki acquires many skills during his journey.

It’s a constant adaptation to new enemies and learning to defeat them. On top of that, you’ll be able to use skills that weren’t available to Hiroki at the start of the game. Yomi is the real crucible where we test your ability to use those skills with some pretty terrifying enemies. That’s why the first part can feel a little serene, it’s all about letting the player get used to the mechanics and skills.

Although the layout is lavish and releasing it in any other form would do the beauty and scenery of Trek to Yomi a disservice, is there a color version somewhere?

SS: From the beginning, we intended to have Trek to Yomi in black and white. We had to take a lot of steps to make sure the game looked great in this type of environment. Enabling colors would render all our previous efforts useless.

Is it something that can just be flipped, for lack of a better term?

SS: No tipping, black and white is the way to go and we intend to stick with it.

And what about plans to integrate a photo mode after launch?

SS: Since the scenes are presented from a carefully designed angle, the introduction of the photo mode will not be available. However, the game will be available in 4K, so we implore everyone to take some great screenshots.

I know I already have a screenshots folder. If the game exceeds expectations and there is demand, do you think the world of Trek to Yomi is ripe for expansion or do you feel like it’s a unique story?

SS: The story told in Trek to Yomi is a closed case. That said, the setting is so rich that, who knows, maybe we’ll dive back into it later.

As a 2.5D platformer, Trek to Yomi feels a bit like what a modern take on the classic Prince of Persia might be. Did you draw inspiration from anything to build the systems of the game?

SS: Prince of Persia is a great game and still holds up to this day. Trek to Yomi doesn’t share the arcade features of Prince of Persia as we felt that would spoil the immersion. We’ve taken a bit of both worlds away. Hiroki can move in all three dimensions, but the fight is fought in 2.5D. It sounds a little weird on paper, but believe us, it’s fun!

Like all things, gaming trends come and go. We had war, zombies, post-apocalypse, battle royales. Right now, it feels like the feudal era of Japan is in full swing. What do you think we’ll see next?

SS: I think any good idea can turn into a popular game, regardless of the prevailing trends at the time. Trek to Yomi, as an idea, was born before Ghost of Tsushima.

If you ask me what I would like to play? Something with dinosaurs, maybe another episode of Turok?

Turok? Yes please. Keeping it straight and authentic has got to be tough, what are some of the funniest anachronisms that almost got thrown around?

SS: Japanese culture is not something obvious to us, but one of the things we had to get rid of after consulting specialists was… the door hinges. Turns out that wasn’t a thing in Edo period Japan. We have a similar encounter with fireplaces in households. It was a very instructive experience, I’m not going to lie.
