How to Halve Microsoft Flight Simulator Xbox Download Size

Microsoft Flight Simulator is the topic of conversation for Xbox Series X and Series S owners right now, but whatever system you have, you might be concerned about the sound effect. 97 GB download size to your storage.

Fortunately, there is actually a way to reduce this size down to a huge 59.7 GB, but with a few potentially major caveats. Developer Asobo Studio claims that these 50 GB and more are reserved for “World – Offline Mode”, which allows the game to be playable offline, as well as “greatly improves” the experience in the face of streaming interruptions due to to problems such as low bandwidth, as well as the world (landscape), air traffic and weather data.

Here’s exactly what the official Xbox version FAQ says about it:

  • The base game files are approximately 42.4 GB and the “World – Offline Mode” is an additional 59.7 GB. It is not necessary to download the “World – Offline Mode” for the basic gameplay, however, this download will significantly improve the following:
  • Interruption of streaming due to issues such as low bandwidth
  • The world (landscape)
  • Air traffic
  • Meteorological data
  • Offline Mode – A user will not be able to use this feature without the downloaded offline landscape.

That said, if you want to reduce the file size of Microsoft Flight Simulator to around 42.4 GB on your Xbox Series X or Series S, simply head to the Game Pass app on your console, search for Microsoft Flight Simulator, and scroll to the “Manage” section. There you will find two files, one of which is offline mode, which can range from around 54GB to 59.7GB. You can then choose to uncheck / uninstall that separately.

Keep in mind that if you don’t have the best of internet connections, it’s probably not even worth considering. If you are really short on space and this is your only way to try Flight Sim, the option is here for you.

Will you use this feature or will you keep the full 97 GB? Let us know below.

(Photo: Screenshot from Steam website) Free Xbox Live games 2021 | ‘Space Jam: A New Legacy – The Game’, ‘Call of Duty: Warzone’ and more

Xbox Live has a list of free games in 2021 that gamers can download for free! While premium games are fun every once in a while, it’s also good to have some free fun every once in a while!

Xbox Live 2021 Free Games

According to Xbox live page, Microsoft invites gamers to join in on the fun and play a wide selection of different attractive free games on the Xbox. The site noted that Xbox has shooters, fantastic MMORPGs, strategy, and more!

The website also notes that all Xbox gamers can access online multiplayer for free in order to play the free games on their console at no cost. A news post by Xbox gave a list of all the games that were available to play for free.

While the list has around 50 games, here are a few that are quite eye-catching:

1. ‘Space Jam: A New Legacy – The Game

In December 2020, Xbox invited Space Jam gamers and fans as well as coding enthusiasts to help design “Space Jam: A New Legacy – The Game” and now the game is finally over! The game will first be available with Xbox Game Pass Ultimate.

2. ‘Techwars Global Conflict – The Age of Titans’ Prosperity

The game has very Gundam-like PVP mecha gameplay where players can use robots, weapons, and use landscapes to fight other players. The game is a combination of skill and strategic thinking as it makes PVP more entertaining.

3. ‘Face of war

The name really says it all because “Warface” is a contemporary first-person shooter that already has millions of fans around the world. The game revolves around five different classes, each with different skills, teamwork, raids, PVP modes, and more.

4. ‘Roblox

The game might sound simple, but it actually turned into a multi-billion dollar profit mega platform! The company behind the valuation of roblox is $ 38 billion, as seen on BusinessofApps, which is quite impressive especially when playing the game.

5. ‘Rocket league

Soccer? Racing cars? Why not the two of them? This game brings together the best of both worlds where players can experience the rise of a high octane rating along with the advanced skills needed to play soccer.

6. ‘Call of Duty: War Zone

Popular Free Games 2021

“Call of Duty” is a free to play game on Xbox with its popular Battle Royale experience where players experience the rarity of the battlefield while having to loot for better items. Season four of the game is here now and for those who haven’t tried it, it’s free to play on Xbox.

In addition to Xbox, of course, Steam also offers a number of interesting games that are also free. For those who think that playing games can be a waste of time, then maybe NFT games could be of interest as players can play while making a profit.

New Xbox ‘Hayu’ app brings the Kardashians and more reality TV to your console

The United States is a powerful nation that has given the world many great inventions, including a leading role in the development of the Internet, the light bulb, and of course, Windows! America has also landed humans on the moon and continues to explore the frontiers of science with their Martian rovers, Tokamak fusion energy, and world-class supercomputers. What a magical nation.

However, America’s greatest contribution to civilization, as we all know, is twofold: Xbox and reality TV. Thanks to the new Hayu app, a singularity of pure innovation has resulted in an all-new app subscription service, giving you access to a reality TV bounty of goodness for just $ 6 per month. What a time to live.

In a press release released earlier today, Hayu revealed that Xbox is their first console partnership, with huge uptime. Reality TV fans in Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, Czech Republic, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Singapore, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and UK have access to the service first, then more will be available later.

Hayu has a wide array of the healthiest and least healthy reality TV on the market, with categories ranging from cooking shows to real crime, celebrity lifestyle shows at home and design, there’s also mountains of dating shows from both the US and UK, including famous series like Keeping Up With The Kardashians and The Real Housewives.

It brings tears to my eyes how hard Xbox is working to deliver to fans. Good games are one thing, the world’s best gaming subscription service in the form of Xbox Game Pass is another. Microsoft is also providing us with cutting edge hardware with the Xbox Series S and Xbox Series X. However, I would say that Hayu is the biggest contribution Xbox has made to us so far. God bless you Microsoft.

Needless to say, if you’ve ever wanted to play Battlefield 1, there’s never been a better time than now.

PLAYER VIDEO OF THE DAY

That should hopefully be enough to get us through to the launch of Battlefield 2042 this fall. It’s shaping up to be the ultimate Battlefield experience with the Battlefield portal bringing maps and modes from a variety of different games in the series, including Bad Company 2 (now make Bad Company 3 cowards!). We’ll get to see more of what Battlefield 2042 has to offer when the Open Beta launches in September.

Until then, we’ll have to settle for Battlefield 1, which is a terrific shooter even though it doesn’t have massive map-ripping tornadoes.

Xbox Live is unavailable for some players on Xbox One and Xbox Series X / S

Xbox Live is currently down for select players on all Xbox platforms, including Xbox One and Xbox Series X / S. During the last hour, a drastic increase in reported Xbox user issues have started to appear, many of which indicate that the online gaming component associated with Xbox as a whole is not working. And while it might be a bit awkward to hear, the issues in question are currently occurring on a number of different websites and services.

Overall, the aspects of Xbox Live that are supposed to address issues come with the basic functionality of the service. Users who reported issues within the hour widely stated that they were unable to play games online in any capacity. Others have found that they cannot even log into their profile properly. Some have also said that the Microsoft Store on Xbox consoles is also down, although this issue appears to be less common.

As mentioned, the underlying issue behind these Xbox Live issues is that Akamai is down right now. If you don’t know what Akamai is, it’s basically a service that hosts a lot of platforms that are connected to the internet to some extent. Akamai suffered a drastic loss of many services today around noon, which then led to the failure of other platforms it supports, such as Xbox Live. The PlayStation was also affected as a result of this outage, with PSN also having issues for many players on PS4 and PS5.

As of this writing, it appears that many Akamai related services are slowly starting to come back online. As such, if you have experienced any issues on Xbox Live, hopefully the issue should be resolved in the near future. And if you’re crazy about this whole ordeal, just know that Microsoft and Xbox aren’t to blame.

Xbox Live Gold subscribers just got a free game for doing nothing

Xbox Live Gold subscribers on Xbox 360, Xbox One, Xbox One X, Xbox One S, Xbox Series X, and Xbox Series S can currently download one additional free game in addition to the free games included in the Games With Gold range for the month of July. In other words, Xbox Live Gold subscribers just got a free game as a bonus for doing nothing. Typically there is a string attached to an offer like this, but not this time around. That said, the game is nothing to write home about for Christopher Robin.

Specifically, all Xbox Live Gold subscribers can now download Injustice: Gods Among Us, an Xbox 360 game playable on the Xbox One and Xbox Series family of consoles via backward compatibility. As you may know, this isn’t the first time Microsoft has made this game free to play at random for subscribers.

At this time, it’s unclear why this game was made free or how long it will be free to download, but at the time of publication it is indeed free, at least in North America. It is not known if the game is free to download in other parts of the world. What is clear is that it is only free for Xbox Live Gold subscribers. If you’re not a subscriber, it’s $ 5, a price that’s only available for a limited time via a sale. Normally it’s $ 20.

As always, if more and more official details emerge after the publication of this article, they will be added after the release via the update. Xbox Live Gold is a paid service that was launched a long time ago on the Xbox 360.

Originally, Gold was intended as a way to give users access to online multiplayer.

This involves paying a monthly fee to access these multiplayer features, although that has changed in recent months.

As of April 2021, free titles – like Fortnite – no longer require Xbox Live Gold to access multiplayer.

But you still get special bonuses including cloud storage, early beta access, and special offers.

You can also claim Games with Gold, a monthly list of free games that you can download and keep.

And you still need Xbox Live Gold to play premium online multiplayer games, like the Halo franchise.

But last year, GameBeat reporter Jeff Grubb said Microsoft would end up shutting down Xbox Live Gold.

And speaking of the giant bomb GrubbSnax (Going through VGC), Grubb said, “Xbox Live Gold is still on a sign somewhere saying ‘this is going to go away at some point’.

“Whether or not they’re actively talking about it right now, I don’t know.

“But they still have it on a roadmap saying, ‘Xbox Live Gold will be discontinued at some point in the future.’

He said Microsoft was focusing more on Xbox Game Pass, a premium service that acts like Netflix for games – giving you over 100 titles for a monthly subscription.

According to Grubb, Microsoft will reach between 23 and 25 million subscribers by the end of the year.

And once Microsoft reaches 40-50 million subscribers, Xbox Live Gold could be gone forever.

Microsoft reportedly continues plans to drop Xbox Live Gold

Journalist Jeff Grubb reiterated on his show GrubbSnax – part of Giant bomb – that Microsoft is still considering getting rid of Xbox Live Gold in the future.

Grubb reiterated the claims he made last year, having initially said that since Halo Infinite The multiplayer component has become free, the departure of Xbox Live Gold would make sense.

He said (thank you, VGC): “Just wanted to reiterate, Xbox Live Gold is still on a board somewhere saying ‘this will go away at some point’.” He added, “Whether or not they’re actively talking about it right now, I don’t know, but they still have it on a roadmap saying ‘Xbox Live Gold will be discontinued at some point in the future.’

The main reason given by Grubb for Microsoft not to abandon Live Gold at this time is because it wants to continue developing Game Pass.

“[Dropping Gold] It could take years, as the current goal is still to put Game Pass in a very healthy position.

“So Microsoft is just sort of [keeping their] is heading towards user acquisition, and that means “Xbox Live is going to be gone, but we have to hit a certain threshold with Game Pass before we can make that choice and disconnect that revenue stream because we’ve had enough of it coming from it.” ‘something else “.

Grubb believes Xbox wants to offer Game Pass to around 40-50 million subscribers. The service was last reported at around 23 million in April this year by Jez Cordon, with expectations that it will reach 30 million by Halo Infinite kick off this holiday season, according to Forbes.

Microsoft reversed price changes for Xbox Live Gold earlier this year, where six months of Xbox Live Gold would have gone from £ 29.99 to £ 42.99.

In other news, Xbox and Bethesda donated to an animal shelter to honor River, the dog responsible for inspiring the design and features of Fallout 4 Dog food.
