Gaming enthusiasts who are fans of the Xbox and Xbox One consoles are probably familiar with the Xbox (Beta) Store app.
This cool app lets you play the games you love to play, but also lets you browse the catalog, view recommendations, and discover your next favorite game from a library of high-quality PC games with Xbox Game Pass.
The app is still tagged with the Beta tag, and it seems to take advantage of user feedback quite well.
However, it looks like Microsoft thinks the app’s current rating may not be high enough, so it gave itself a bit of help.
Microsoft awarded 5 stars to the Xbox app
A Redditor noticed that user reviews of the app’s store page were no longer there and suddenly the app has a 5-star rating.
Users have been divided into two groups regarding the issue:
- Those who think it was the right thing to do
- Those who think Microsoft is close to the official release of the app
The Xbox Store app could soon be released in full version
On the one hand, users think that this evolution was only natural given that the software was still in the testing phase and that the reviews were therefore no longer as relevant:
Would you count the app’s beta reviews as valid?
On the other hand, users believe that this erasure may be an indicator that Microsoft is preparing for the official release of the Xbox app:
Either it will likely exit beta soon, or they re-submitted to the store for the final version.
Unfortunately, these users also agree on one thing: the Xbox app is far from over just yet:
I really hope that doesn’t mean it’s almost out of beta.
The app is still slow, lacks features, and doesn’t even register owned games that aren’t in the gamepass.
All in all, one thing is for sure: Something big is about to happen with the Xbox Store app.
