If you have a Xbox One video game console at home, you should now know that it is possible to broadcast your video games live via Mixer. But did you know it was possible to co-stream with someone else? Not everyone knows this, and those who do may not know how to do it. Now, with all of that in mind, we thought we’d put together a little guide to help users co-stream with family, friends, or complete strangers on Xbox Live. It’s a fun thing to do, and we think it will become the norm for live streaming in the coming year.
Note that co-streaming only allows up to three people at the same time, merging their streams into a single entity. During the stream, each streamer shares the same viewers with a unified chat experience.
There are several ways to set up and make co-streaming work on the Xbox One, and we’re going to cover all of them today.
Co-stream on Xbox One via Mixer and Xbox Live
Co-streaming with friends, families, and even strangers can be a great experience with Mixer, so read on to learn more.
- Invite someone from your friends list
- Invite a party you’re already at.
Let’s talk about it in more detail.
1]Invite someone from your friends list
The first thing you’ll want to do is invite someone from your friends list. We suspect most people on Xbox Live will go down this route, so read on to find out what needs to be done.
Here is the trick, you have to press the Xbox button on the controller in order to open the Guide, and from there click on People. So the next step is to choose the friends you want to co-stream with one before the other.
Select the friend, then click Invite > Invite to Co-Stream, and that’s it, to be honest.
2]Invite a party you’re already at
In terms of co-streaming with people you’re already at a party with, it’s also an easy task to accomplish. Again, you’ll want to click the Xbox button that’s on your controller. This will open the Guide once more. Under the section that says Multiplayer, select the option that says Show party details.
Finally, click Invite Party to Co-Stream and everyone in your party will now co-stream with you like a boss.
