Microsoft’s Xbox Live app party chat is now available

News

If you’re someone who usually spends a lot of time chatting with your Xbox Live friends online, you’ll be pleased to hear that the Xbox Live app now has its own Party Chat feature. So now whenever you step out of the house, you can still talk to your friends even if you’re not near your console.

The app is available on iOS and Android, and all you need is a valid Xbox Live account. You can talk to your friends while you’re on the go, or you can potentially use the app as a substitute for your headset, put everyone on speakerphone, and chat while you’re doing other things. Play Halo, maybe?

This feature was teased for beta testers not too long ago and has been in the works for a little while. If you’re looking for a way to keep in touch with your friends on Xbox Live and aren’t keen on using broader communication apps like Discord and the like. If you are a hardcore Xbox Live user, there are many features on the app that you can use to make it useful, the least of which may be the party chat as you can also check messages and other information while using it. .

If you end up downloading the app for this purpose, let us know how it works for you in the comments below.

Xbox app owners can now chat with a smartphone with new update

|

Xbox users can now group chat from their smartphones to chat with gamers online at an Xbox Live party thanks to a new update released today for the Xbox app.

To access the feature, open the Xbox app and tap the icon with multiple people at the top and start a party by inviting people. From there, just speak into your phone and make sure your device can access your microphone as well. You can also manage the party with actions like mute or remove people. So it has the same basic functionality as a regular Xbox Live Party on console.

Xbox Larry hyrb confirmed the feature on Twitter.

Since December, Xbox users have participated in voice chat beta testing for the app. Previously, group chat functionality was limited to Xbox consoles and on Windows 10 in recent years. Before that, you had to rely on text chats to communicate with your Xbox Live friends through the app, or rely on third-party apps like Discord that provide VOIP services on PC and mobile. Xbox Live is now the first service to provide VOIP service via PC, phone and console.

If you don’t already have the Xbox app, you can download it for Android here and for iOS here.
